I hope you realise you pay more for your phone on carrier contract than if you buy your phone outright and get a cheap sim plan. And your phone will be carrier locked, which means you can't use it with another service provider. Installments add up. Do you math.

This is still not equal and valid.
Make all phones from all brands listed here in GSMArena available in all of 206 existing countries at every electric and electronic shop, at every vendor and lets see which brands will sells most.
Bet my sallary Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi will not be even in first 10.
Because some brands like Doogee, Oukitel, Blackview, Cubot, Ulephone etc. camn for half the cost deliver equall powerfull devices.
Said updates arent important that much since the flagship grade specs with or without updates will be able to run any app or game for a very long time.

I mean in 100 people maybe 10-20 can buy iphone instead redmi which can achieve by everyone.
