Decide to choose the phone, that is “the best”, that gives you all. For my ADHD it is even worst, that is why in the end I choosed iPhone. Buying older flagship, like you pointed out is better, but the software support. Yeah that iPhone 12 will have better software support than that Motorola. It is even as powerfull as Pixel 9. But I have to say, the Motorola looks nice, speaking just about design.

Moto G55 is one example, but the tradeoff in everything else is massive. Apart from those 3 features and battery, it is worse than an iPhone 12 from 4 years ago, and even an iPhone XR or 8 still has many advantages in comparison (IP67, wireless charging, better SoC including CPU/GPU/ISP, …)

Even in midrange there is no microSD card slot or jack hole on phone. The only phones with MicroSD card slot is Galaxy A series but the A5x and A3x do not have a jack hole. And then there are Chinese phones like Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+, OnePlus Nord 4 or realme 13 Pro+ and those phones have neither microSD card slot not jack hole.
