The recently announced Exynos 5420 supports Global Task Scheduling hence the ability to use all 8-cores. (This wasn't possible on earlier 5410 due to the broken CCI-400 coherent bus). The fact is that this new Exynos will go into mass production this August while that MediaTek SoC will be manufactured starting in November. So Samsung wins again, sorry MediaTek.

True OCTA-core eh? So its' already a given Samsung will create an Exynos 8-core awhich will soon be followed by Qualcomm, Intel, etc.

Which also means this year's QuadCore flagships will be nothing more but ancient in the coming months. And while Android will start seeing 8-cores, Windows is just opening itself to Quadcore, Blackberry is stuck at Quadcore and Apple...yes, Apple is still relying on its' laughable Dual-core cheapness.

How I wish Sony and the other OEMS make their own chipset instead of buying from Qualcomm/Samsung so they can truly differentiate themselves.

wowww .... real octacore processor from mediatek is a very good sign. the devices with its processors will be available to the average consumer easily in the coming days. samsung only knows how to cheat ppl and collect huge money by showing mere specifications, cores, and jimmikes. mediatek is proved real advancement in the processor cores technology... i will be waiting for the mobile with this TRUE OCTACORE PROCESSOR in budget phones like micromax etc.....
