27 September 2024
It's not too different from the recently launched Tecno Phantom V Flip2.

Think the reason for the thick bezel is due to preventing damage to the oled panel when drops and scratches occur during. Say a drop and kick amongst others walking by.

So far doesn't look like any protective case yet available, so it's a bonus to initial customers. MOTOROLAdid the same thing for 4 generations of their Flip btw.

Flip phones are useless can everyone stop copying. Its literally just like a normal phone that flips. It has no use. Now a fold is different. When done right 16:9 ratio or better

$645 converts roughly to R$3504 here in Brazil, which is way less money than Motorola and Samsung asks for its new foldables.

All prices bellow were taken from their official stores and directly converted to US dollar:
      Razr 50 = One time payment R$4950 ($910) or R$5500 ($1012) paid in installments.
      Razr 50 Ultra = R$7200 ($1325) or R$7999 ($1472) paid in installments.
      Galaxy Z Flip6 (256GB) = R$7200 ($1325) or R$7999 ($1472) paid in installments.
      Galaxy Z Flip6 (512GB) = R$8100 ($1490) or R$8999 ($1656) paid in installments.

Infinix has local prodution and uses another brand factory to assemble most of its phones sold in Brazil. If they release this Zero Flip here for under R$4000 ($736) and improve their awful marketing strategies, they might impact Motorola sales. I doubt they would make any impact on Samsung, but anyway, it would be another player on foldable market.

A flip phone already has one really expensive full size foldable screen on the "inside", so the external screen will have to cut some corners, or slim edges, to not make them more expensive than non-foldables. You only get one screen on the legacy models, remember?

justasmile, 8 hours agoDimensity 8020 with 2 os updates is truly a zero.In Nigeria ,a brand new galaxy z flip 5 is literally ₦945,000, which is cheaper than this (infinix zero flip),and with that ,the only reason to still choose this over the galaxy is because of faster charging ,charger in the box ,and less noticeable crease

Not bad for the price, but 3+4 years of updates would have been nice

No wonder, I'm waiting for Zero Flip 4G with G99 tho

Too expensive for what it offers, either get the new moto razr 50 at the same price as this or last year's razr 40 plus/zflip 5 at an even lower price; also doesn't "upgradable to Android 16" means it will get updates for only one year since android 15 release is almost upon us?

i was expecting them to use their beloved helio g99 on this one too

Brands like Tecno and Infinix bring the newest mobile technologies to Africa.

What's with companies having a thick bezel under the outer screen on flip phones? I get that the screen doesn't cover the entire back but should do something with that dead space, like a capacitive touch
