27 September 2024
It's not too different from the recently launched Tecno Phantom V Flip2.

It's called a zero because that's how much support and how many updates you'll get.

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2024If you have an Android phone you can easily test why no one... moreI know about 16:9 im saying it would be atleast better. My phone 19:9 or 20:9 its a galaxy s21. But still making a foldable be 16:9 aspect ratio would be bettet than 4:3. But if they can make it high ratio. Then even better.

Koishi Komeiji, 27 Sep 2024No wonder, I'm waiting for Zero Flip 4G with G99 thoSee you again 😊

CompactLover, 28 Sep 2024for those who berated flip phones : these are not for you. ... moreInfinix is not some old luxury brand that can ask so high price for a flip phone like this. Their hardware is middle class at best as even weaker then SD870 or 7s gen 3

Even Samsung Flip5 is cheaper wit h 8 gen 2 in it and dont matter it's year old and there is already Flip6 out

If this Infinix Zero Flip would cost 400 euro then it would be worth to get.

And your calling people with brains cheapskate's. You must be really angry towards money to buy something like this with this high price. Or you need to be some next level fanboy of this brand to do something like this.

[deleted post]So, you made ChatGPT give you a summary? What a waste of a comment.

itshimjae, 27 Sep 2024Not bad for the price, but 3+4 years of updates would have ... moreLike you cant sell for half price after two years and get newest version for other half price.Selling for 300-350 plus paying another 300-350 to get latest version.

justasmile, 27 Sep 2024Dimensity 8020 with 2 os updates is truly a zero.At least for half price of Samsung flip you get much more battery and charging plus charger in box and few other things.

As long the inner screen is plastic I'm out

for those who berated flip phones : these are not for you. same princle goes to iphone line-ups : theyre not targeting you. if you're cheapskate, just buy any phone suit your budget. the range is huge. just leave non-mainstream user out of your sight.

anyway, another flip option available is always better. modest spec with cheaper option

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2024Launch a cheaper variant with dimensity 6300U r right . I am expecting infinix foldable hand set is other company set too cheaper, but I am disappointed ☹️

All these flips from random brands competing in the market that can't be a really big market as the flagship market where people can afford to get them.

It's still too expensive when Flip5 price have dropped to 700 euro and still beats this infinix in every possible way. Only slower charger and no charger in the box is the flip5 flaw over what ever other brand.

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2024If you have an Android phone you can easily test why no one... moreJust realised there are no longer any options in Android to change the screen resolution.
Anyhoos, the point stands. Having a 16:9 aspect ratio in this day and age is useless.

BrianCoriour, 28 Sep 2024Flip phones are useless can everyone stop copying. Its lite... moreIf you have an Android phone you can easily test why no one uses 16:9 any longer. Go into settings and change your resolution to FHD. Then go onto the internet pages like this one, try commenting on things and all that. You'll quickly notice why 16:9 was abandoned. Because it isn't fun doing things on the internet when half the screen is covered by keyboard and the other half is covered by menus in the browser and web page.

Ouifuf, 27 Sep 2024Fully aware it would cost more for a big screen on the outs... moreIt's funny you mention in your 1st post a complaint about adding "capacitive touch" lol which all smartphones have had since 2010!

Think the reason for the thick bezel is due to preventing damage to the oled panel when drops and scratches occur during. Say a drop and kick amongst others walking by.

So far doesn't look like any protective case yet available, so it's a bonus to initial customers. MOTOROLAdid the same thing for 4 generations of their Flip btw.

Flip phones are useless can everyone stop copying. Its literally just like a normal phone that flips. It has no use. Now a fold is different. When done right 16:9 ratio or better

$645 converts roughly to R$3504 here in Brazil, which is way less money than Motorola and Samsung asks for its new foldables.

All prices bellow were taken from their official stores and directly converted to US dollar:
                                        Razr 50 = One time payment R$4950 ($910) or R$5500 ($1012) paid in installments.
                                        Razr 50 Ultra = R$7200 ($1325) or R$7999 ($1472) paid in installments.
                                        Galaxy Z Flip6 (256GB) = R$7200 ($1325) or R$7999 ($1472) paid in installments.
                                        Galaxy Z Flip6 (512GB) = R$8100 ($1490) or R$8999 ($1656) paid in installments.

Infinix has local prodution and uses another brand factory to assemble most of its phones sold in Brazil. If they release this Zero Flip here for under R$4000 ($736) and improve their awful marketing strategies, they might impact Motorola sales. I doubt they would make any impact on Samsung, but anyway, it would be another player on foldable market.
