Fair enough, but there will be people who will test the features and with AI it is easy. Just ask: "What is the link between Covid-19 and spike protein?" and there are plenty of people who know the real answer. Oh, a question on Flat Earth will be easier still. Yes, I will know soon enough how mainstream/political Samsung AI real is and if it is worth real money.

Samsung had to work their ass for how long just to be able to do a real competition with Apple in terms of sales and general preferences? And we just wake up one day and we hear that they want to F#CK that up by making the only thing( GALAXY AI) that made people prefer it to Apple, a premium experience! Well good luck to Samsung and I hope to see them crumble down and lose most of their users back to Apple like it has always been for the past decade.

I'm glad they're doing this - and how it will almost ultimatley and unanimously bite them in the ass when people don't get on board with it. Nobody asked for or wanted AI crap crammed into a phone - especially when it takes priority over the phone as an excuse for a piss poor upgrade with no majorly noteworthy features besides the usual suspects. So, to that end, do it Samsung. We all dare you to shoot yourself in the foot (again). It's bad enough, like many other OEMs, that they can't be bothered to innovate, but to launch a phone with paywalled features is going to be a huge mistake and the last straw.

Well, Circle to Search will be Free,
Object Eraser possible Free as other Brand already doing it unless other brand will charge their customers too Or Samsung will get bad reputation by charging customer while other brand is free with same function.
AI Summarize i guess limited.
AI Translation. Nah its totally free. a lot of translator app out there if they make it paid no prroblem 3rd app to the rescue.
Sketch to image i guess this is the most feature that you gonna need to pay. it is already added from previous update in some devices.
i guess they creating more AI in the future that can be paid.

I am confused doesn't it say free until the end of 2025? So presumably 2026 or Dec 2025,so why do ppl keep saying from start of 2025 or from 2025?

There is always be producer that will give AI for free. Its like car brands wanted to pay monthly fees for massaging seats or other special features. And everybody knows how that ended. Nobody will pay for AI in Samsung phones. They just change phone brand. Bye bye Samsung.

Imo this is how they will make you update your phone every 2-3 year. They will put the previously free AI features behind a paywall for phones 2 years old. Will probably also help with used phone prices (at least for last gen and the gen before that, everything else will plummet)

Anonymous, 30 Sep 2024Not a big deal anyway. Not a problem until they start to turn the feature on by default everytime we update our devices.
I guess that what I was trying to pont out is that, as consumers, we should not be too complacent.
And should not settle for "just that" or "just enough" action from them.
As they will always abuse their power, unless they get regulated.

I only use Ai features that can run "On Phone Only". Besides, most of features are super gimmicky.

Vitaliano G., 30 Sep 2024I don't get what they call AI features. I own a S24 Ul... moreIt's about advertising and creating hype.
Not for us consumers, but for "AI Investors".
To be more precise, whaleing investors.
