Samsung may start charging for certain Galaxy AI features in 2025

This reiterates Samsung's previous plans to make some of its AI features paid.

AI is and will remain disabled on my phone. Hope Samsung does not begin pestering users to subscribe, though.

    Who is seriously going to pay a monthly fee for Sketch to image, it's the type of gimmick you use to show somebody what your new phone can do then forget all about it. I can't see people using it regularly to draw images.

      I don't get what they call AI features. I own a S24 Ultra and intelligence is nowhere to be found, I even find trying to use bixby a complete waste of time.

      'AI' features for the photo editing with the gallery app were already present a long time ago.

      Trying to use the interpreter... Well, good luck with that understanding what you're saying.

      For the Samsung Health 'AI' generated recommendations they feel more like a bunch of nested ifs or an array made out of if/then suggestions.

      So, for the time being I wouldn't pay a dime for any Ai feature on my phone because they don't seem intelligent to me.

                  It's easy to see that many people have absolutely no clue yet they are yapping. More advanced AI features run as a cloud service, the hardware and server cost for that is immense. If enough people use it, offering it for free will ruin Samsung financially, for the same reason Google has some paid stuff already for Gemini.

                    Snore. How often do you guys want to reheat that news?

                      The ideal for any company is to have subscribers. Samsung is no exception... I use an old phone, so if someone can explain to me: what is the difference between "circle to search" and typing the same term in the search engine? A few seconds?

                                        What are the AI features in the first place ? Like circle for search is AI feature ? I didnt know that and it dont exactly make sense it to be a AI feature. It should be like copy paste text as for the computer it be anyways 101001 being in text or picture form.

                                        Never mind that the AI collects your info and makes money for the brands as info farming.
                                        We basically need AI-block like ad-block and not pay for the AI features that we dont even know what these are. All we see is AI this and that but i hardly ever see what are the specific features AI give to users on phones
