I really needed a newer 3rd backup phone, especially with LCD screen since I like to crank the brightness up to max while sticking in an app to watch for hours like Live TikTok, Live IPTV, Navigation and others (which causes burn-ins on OLEDs).

IpsDisplay, 2 hours agoYeah 1/3rd of 9400 maybe
But how tensor is going they co... moreD9000 from 3 years ago?
Funny to see it here, when LG was massacred for having 821 instead of 835.
D9000 does not even have mmWave.
Ppl here attack Qualcomm and glorify mediatek for thinking mediatek is China, despite not being.
How about asking H to use 4G variant of 8g2 and 8g3 instead of rebranded K9000?
Nova 13 series has 680, 778 for 2 devices.

Anonymous, 5 hours agoNot a big difference. Dragon all the way. That extra 40 could possibly get us away for 8mp UW and 2mp depth
Or give us MORE telephoto lenses at Lower price ranges
Maybe some more usb 3.1 or bypass charging.. so many newer combinations could be possibly

This would... moreYeah 1/3rd of 9400 maybe
But how tensor is going they could use a D9000 then and it would still be better
My point however if those weaker chipsets can be sold why can't 9400 have proper success

Zuzuz, 2 hours agoRumors are that EUV is almost complete, all components bein... moreH is gonna use omnivision and pretend it is in-house. Just like done to the glass.
Just to play the " national pride" role.
Fooling people over and over.
Image sensor makers took decades to be where they are now, all them are semicon businesses.
Creating SoC is far easier.

Anonymous, 5 hours ago$25 was price of imx586 alone. It did not include lenses,... moreIt costs 190rmb ($27) for Xiaomi to replace the same imx907 main camera that is on the Xiaomi 14t (on the k70 extreme). The light hunter 800 that they use on the Poco F6 pro (Redmi k70 in China) and various other models costs just 110rmb to replace (less than $16). These costs include everything, OIS, lens etc and built in profit margin. Therefor $35 could definitely get you quite a bit for cameras. Could add a good periscope zoom also. The periscope zoom cameras are always expensive relative to regular upright telephotos

[deleted post]Rumors are that EUV is almost complete, all components being made in-house. Tsmc seems to be extremely worried about the future that's why some reports say that is a lot of harsh discussion between the Dutch and the USA. Japanese are extremely worried also because of the huge investments in photo sensors done by Huawei & Co.
Personally I would want that to come true sooner. Monaco should become a lot cheaper with billionaires becoming millionaires

$35 is not going to too much too much difference when buying a fully fledged flagship device but for these budget flagship type device that is going for the lowest price possible it is a significant amount. According to the same leaker (DCS) flagship prices will increase next year due to an increase in some component costs like memory for example. He says most of the next generation of flagships will increase prices unfortunately (in China anyway)

IpsDisplay, 5 hours agoSo... Samsung forced inferior exynos for years
Google pi... moreTensynos costs 1/3 of mediatek dimensity 9xxx.
This would easily increase retail price by $90 at least.
You all call pixel overpriced already. Want it $100 more expensive?

Of course they will outshine A18 lmao. You never buy ifail for hardware they are very weak in comparison you buy them to brag only xD. The price difference makes sense because power wise they will be similar but the main mediatek weakness won't ever be solved(which is apps are more optimized for sd) just only keep going for marketing reasons.

Snapdragon will always be better, in every other way, even if Dimensity exceeds its performance, it's like how Nvidia rtx cards are better than amd cards, there's just no question to it, its either better or cheaper

Rysenchi, 5 hours agoYou save $40 but how customers do you lose because of that ... moreSo... Samsung forced inferior exynos for years
Google pixel forces inferior tensor for years.. worse chipsets that dimensity 9400
But $40 cheaper and stronger 9400 will lose customers?
