Anonymous, 07 Oct 2024Which ones did you buy and why was your experience so bad? ... moreXiaomi 13 Pro is supposed to be a flagship. Yet, the voice quality was so poor it was unusable as a phone. Missing syllables caused by delayed switching between the caller and the called. Excessive noise. Half-duplex back and forth switching caused by background noise. The phone just could not make up its mind who is talking. Fortunately I was able to make recordings of my test calls because the gaps were picked up on the record of the caller. Well, when I wanted to return it the customer service told me to hook up the phone to their service center because this problem could be fixed by software reload. (The bootloader of this phone was never unlocked.) The complete reload took days but fixed nothing. I am not sure Xiaomi tested this phone before releasing it and I lost confidence in Xiaomi. They should not have dragged me through such a painful refund process.
The second bad experience was with Redmi Note 12 Turbo. Display on this phone is borderline crap. It even changes color when tilted. An additional problem was with the reviews of this phone and I did not have a clue the display could be this bad. So that was the end for Xiaomi. Recently I watched a very in-depth comparison between flagship Oppo Find, Vivo x100 U, and Xiaomi 14 U. The Xiaomi could not hold the image stable at zoom-in and I could only laugh when gsmarena rated Xiaomi U the best in the premium category. Of course I laughed because by then I would not have bought Xiaomi anyway.

And most importantly phone must be rootable.
Bootloader unlock must be allowed by ALL phone manufacturers or else...
That's pure freedom.
Why be locked down in Realme UI if you can enjoy pure freedom with custom ROM?

Motorola seems to do...thanks for the information.
Xiaomi doesn't, limited to 90W cf 14 Ultra.
Oppo and Oneplus don't limited to 100W. (Thought BBK has the best charging tech on market, I was wrong, m'y Bad)
If Motorola has, choose Motorola, simple !
On Edge 50 Ultra, Motorola choose 8s Gen 3 which is less powerfull and I prefer Xiaomi's photos...
It's a mater of choice.
You've got better things on both and worst things on both...

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2024Yeah but priced similarly 😁Yes, if you look at the base 14 vs. the 14T pro. At least in my market. One would only get the 14 if smaller phones is one's preference.
The 14 has several compromises due to its size, so for many the 14T is a better buy for the price.
The T-series have improved a lot and is getting more and more of a flagship series, than flagship killer. Especially the Pro. Previously you had to give up wireless charging, and before that UFS 4.0 and before that OIS. Now it is all getting there, but also the price.

Glenico353, 08 Oct 2024Commenting "No headphone jack = No buy!" in every... moreSome people have a more simple way to express their disapproval, but it's not your place (either) in the ecosystem to stop them. You're obviosly not the site owner or admin, nor the mod., so mind your own business. Do not attack other people for what they are saying!
PS1: I'm all set, no need for you to recommend me a phone
PS2: FYI, manufacturers pay close attention in the bachground on what happen on discussion forums; it's the best feed back for them!
PS3: Who's "we"?!

Buy a Sony or an Asus smartphone since they have a headphone jack, instead of saying it and thinking big tech corporations will notice it here on a GSMArena comments section and change their minds.
And we're not defending them for removing the headphone jack.

More recent xiaomi phones work great for me and the best part is unlocking the bootloader and installing custom ROM. Nowadays less and less manufacturers allow bootloader unlock. Xiaomi phones are very customizable. That's why I stay with xiaomi.

That's why Xiaomi 14 Ultra with USB3.2 is limited to 90W.
Yes it remove some features.
But what's the link between USB2.0 and AI?
AI need, hi-bandwidth Ram and fast internat storage used as virtual Ram, 14T Pro checked those 2 points (lpddr5x 9600 and UFS4.0...compared to iPhone 16 Pro Max, it's +50% août of Ram, +15% Ram bandwidth, +100% storage speed)
