It's only for the newly released laptops with enough NPU power, the Copilot+ PCs. And for those, it's not "enabled by default" - users are asked at the first start-up if they want it enabled or keep it disabled.

Meanwhile, my 12th gen Intel i5 laptop has just received the 23H2 update. I'm certain I won't get the 24H2 on my AMD R7 8700G desktop before Q1 2025 either. It seems Microsoft is only focusing on Surfaces and other Copilot+ enabled laptops.

WTF is this? How about they drop this absolute distopian permanent screen recorder they named recall (I sure hope this is not on by default but I‘m afraid it is) and instead fix all their bugs? Windows could be a great OS if management cared about its users and not the stock price.

And removes Windows Mixed Reality support. Meaning that all WMR VR Headsets are unusable unless its downgraded to Windows 10.

Great more bloatware that most consumers do not want nor needed in the first place (except wi-fi 7).

Recall and AI - never used and never will. They should work more on stability issues.

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2024Waiting windows 12from statcounter Windows 11 is still only 33% of users.. 62% Windows 10 (including me). Will many people upgrade when Windows 12 comes out? I do not think so. Windows 10 will also end of support in 2025.
