Because I dislike the popup notifications so I turned on the full ones on my work phone.

      Did you?

      Yes?/No?

You can have normal sized notifications in OneUI instead of the pop up ones you just mentioned.

Also no matter the notifications style you can fully read a notification on the lockscreen without unlocking your phone.

Copying so many iOS things take time. Be prepared on iOS 18 like gallery design for example.

I cannot help but wonder how Samsung has managed to create probably one of the worst Android ROMs.

OneUI 6 is a freaking disaster of epic proportions and people hate it with passion. For instance instead of normal notifications in the middle of the screen containing all the information, you get tiny bars at the top of the screen that hide most of the information and require full phone unlocking to see/read them. There are dozens of posts on Reddit lamenting this.

Lots of power features that are ever present in AOSP are either completely missing or very hard to find. I once recommended Galaxy Ultra phones to people but after one of them showed OneUI to me, I no longer do that. I cannot recommend stripped down unusable garbage of a ROM.

And then Samsung just like Apple and Huawei tries hard to force its own apps on you (for which good featureful Google alternatives exist) to lock you in their ecosystem forever.

Chances are Android 15 are coming between October and December for the popular/recent devices and One UI updates between February and April 2025.

Then Google will release Android 16 earlier next year so this OneUI7 will be short-lived version.

So no Android 15 till next year?? Not just One UI 7 but Android 15 aswell?? Pathetic

Haha back to the good old days with Samsung being late with updates, hey maybe that One UI thing is too heavy or something.

Again #TeamPixel kicks Samsung's ass while "7 years of OneUI" will never mean anything. Nobody wants to see another "redesign" of OneUI, Samsung Experience, GraceUX, TouchWiz etc, when Android Pixel 15 has arrived. Plus literally no one will buy the S25 series because it will be completely eclipsed by the iPhone SE4.

we are always lied to by samsung..disaster everyone should switch to ios

This is pathetic surely they'll release One UI 7 next year but Android 15 this year?? If this is true I'm selling my S24 Ultra this is ridiculous

"The only more solid detail is the fact that the home screen grid will be redesigned, somehow."

So, the press release was too long for you? Is this the level gadget blogging is stooping to these days? "I was too lazy or incompetent to read it, so I decided to lie and say it didn't detail anything".

TL;DR They described how OneUI 7 and its user experience will be rolled out too all Samsung devices from now on. It will then be able to use blockchain to securely sync information and processing across your personal devices instead of some shady subscription based cloud service, and they'll enable integration with third party services for authentication and the likes. For instance to secure B2B services. They'll put AI processors in pretty much everything, to enable this without compromising privacy or specific device performance. It's actually a pretty neat attempt to make everything you have connected without having to read a 500 page engineer's handbook.
