The supplier might use some of the tooling or small assemblies but every iPhone does have completely unique parts to it. They usually change just the slightest things like motherboard connectors and flex cables between every component year after year during their refresh.

The whole point of the SE is that they just use old hardware with a few upgraded internals, creating a whole new fingerprint sensor just for one model would be bizarre.

(If you look at their official cases, they have even figured out a way to cover that pressure sensitive area but still make it work)

                        I might be getting one if Apple can keep the sub-$500 price tag like the current SE (2022) while also dropping out the dismal 64GB internal storage. Unlike Android smartphones which always lose money six months after the phone release, the iPhone always tends to hold its value well generally and takes a long time to go down in price. I don't mind having just one camera as there are always Moment and Beastgrip mobile lenses to play with.

                            It would be a good deal at launch for a particular market since it would be the smallest phone in the midrange price segment, well, probably not as good of a deal outside US where this will most likely be priced around 650 USD.
