rofl iOS catches up. Android overtook the garbage pos iOS by consistently evolving and giving the consumer more choice.

Of course, clothes and cars are the status symbols in the US, nobody really cares what cell phone you own.

It's not just for the cheap range. I can do so much more with how I want and need my Galaxy Note II by root, Tasker, NFC tags, memory expansion, changeable battery, a Wacom digitizer, and wireless control - more near PC-like functions than anything out there in its category. You would complain that that's so much work. Guess what-you can choose not to have any modifications at all and work with what it offers out of the box. It still beats whatever devices or there with so much features and power.
Apple devices are mere ordinary limited staple media players with phone functions with no real multi-tasking capabilities. That's not how some of us want on expensive devices.

Before the two big ones know it, WP would've already cought up big time! BlackBerry is dead now just like webOS, Symbian and Palm. WP has a big future.

Android has armies of phones from very cheap to expensive. Therefore it is correct to say not all people can afford the iPhone, and not all of that 50% Android market is made up of flagships compared to the iPhone.

So wait .. one single manufacturer has almost 50% of the market, and you call it bad? Come on people, get youself together :)
iOS has its bad sides, but in user experience, its far above Android or WP. That is just a fact.

Here in the UK, if you want the latest iPhone, its £35 a month for 24 months.
Want the HTC flagship, its £35 for 24 months. Same for xperia z, lumia 1020, etc.
Want them sim free, all about £400.
I think in 3rd world countries having an iPhone is a status symbol. In the developed world, its the phone you get your mum because its easy to use.
