Measley is a strong word it's not as folks will be using their devices for quantum computing that Snapdragon and Apple's A18 CPU aren't no joke either gsm arena blowing news out of proportion lol

Next you're going to say that Google is a social media network too, because they have Google+, Google Wave, Google Buzz, Orkut, Keen... There were probably more people using those "social network" than people using Google hardware.

Do you know AI is already part of our technologies now?
If you dont like to use AI then goodluck while other is taking advantage of it now.

Wesker, 09 Oct 2024Funny how Google's chip didn't even made the list. Bro aare you serious???
Google chip would struggles even with calculator trying to 1+1 or 2x2.
Anything above 10 would burn it into a crispy peanut,
Even old Vega one of very first personal computers from 1970 probbably had much more AI power.

from android authority: "AI is, of course, one of the major motivators behind the Tensor project, powering Google’s latest Gemini and computational photography features. Google closely guards its TPU secret sauce, which was developed as part of its DeepMind cloud initiative, but it’s revealed a few tidbits. The headline capability is an “industry-leading” 45 tokens per second output rate. That’s quick; 30 tokens per second is fast enough to outpace even the quickest readers.

This metric is from running Gemini Nano on-device for the new Pixel Screenshots feature, and, from what we know, Nano comes in a 3.5 billion parameter version at most. For comparison, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 outputs 15 tokens per second for a bigger 10 billion parameter large language model, and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 handles 7 billion parameters at 20 tokens per second. So Google’s TPU is fast, but it’s not clearly leaps and bounds ahead of the competition when it comes to token crunching."

Wesker, 09 Oct 2024Funny how Google's chip didn't even made the list. Not sure about the other benchmarks but in terms of multimodal capacity (AI), Tensor 4 does 45 tokens/sec and the new 9400 chip is 50 tokens/sec according to tom's hardware.

ashrobb, 10 Oct 2024Given how much they're charging for a Pixel these days... morePeople are more interested in leaving Qualcomm than going back to Qualcomm. I can't see Google going back to Qualcomm. Qualcomm must be one of the hardest companies to work with. Everyone hates them.

Dang, am still using SD 8 Gen 1, tempted to get a phone with SD 8 Gen 3 but seems Dimensity 9400 is soo good that it's even more tempting. Not sure if I should invest on Mediatek than Qualcomm. But then again SD 8 Gen 4 is about to come out and we don't know how good it will be, not to mention Qualcomm is quite expensive.

Did you ask for a dedicated video card which costs you $500US and has 8-24GB video memory in 2000?!
Did you ask for Satellite emergency sms ans calls when you always spend time in the city along with your kids on their cellphone?!

Technology VERY rarely waits for what people Ask for yet always provides a need when life progresses or when people see the real value in it when it can be used.

Funny how the editor states that the SD Gen3 gets a "measily" score yet is almost 1K points higher than Apple's A17 which has no adjective associated with having THE lowest score of all 4 chips mentioned.
