09 October 2024
The company's new top of the line chipset promises to be a mighty competitor to the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Wesker, 09 Oct 2024Funny how Google's chip didn't even made the list. Given how much they're charging for a Pixel these days they should go back to Qualcomm. At least they'll have a great processor back again.
Or go with Mediatek, why not. Anything is better than their tensor stuff

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2024Not a hardware company.Tensor Chip, Pixel Phones, Pixel Book, Pixel Tablet, Chromecast, Pixel Watch, Pixel Buds, Google Nest Mini, not to mention all the Smart Home devices (Door Locks, Security Cameras, Thermostats). I’d say they’re doing a darn good impression of a hardware company lol.

            wasted real estate space
especially if consumers not need or use AI
            just like snapdragon PC
buy PC not for AI but for battery life

What apps or processes specifically use the Npu? My phone was no Npu but I can use Google photos with magic eraser which Google say is AI powered.

Except that no one asked for it. Why do we have to pay for technology we don't want?

Eh, I really don't care about most AI features. Nice to see an improvement though.

No one cares about AI benchmarks

FatShady, 09 Oct 2024and this benchmark is somehow important to consumers because? I dunno maybe OEMs are moving in the direction of having local large language models on smartphones or something

Maybe this can help with off-network communication feature via LoRa training consumers can possibly utilise communicating off network

Maybe ai benchmarks will have a future like antu tu, geekbench etc as A.I gets more potent.. Maybe

and this benchmark is somehow important to consumers because?

It didn't include the existing A18 Pro and the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. But I think even if they do, this Mediatek 9400 is still ahead of both.

All I could say is good for us consumers. This kind of achievement hopefully will push the other chip makers to push harder and innovate further.
