Analyst: Lumia 1020 sales "modest at best", Xperia Z sales too

New phones are coming out quicker and quicker. The normal cycle was 12 months, now new phones are being released almost bi-monthly. Everyone wants to be first to market with the latest gimmick. Most of us are more interested in bigger batteries (3500mAh+). Although improving, it is still a secondary consideration for the manufacturers.

this is n8 all over again.. windows 8 was 2012 now they need snapdragon 800, and a 5inch 1080p screen in order to keep up with the compitition this is just lumia 920 all over again, with better camerea..wtf Nokia, do something revolusionary other than the camera.. windows 8 does not support quadcore pro. not any flashplayer, people gonna buy lumia 1020 and get sick of it after a week, or if u allready have the 920 and ur not that camera intressted people will get really dissaponted. bad move nokia.. bad move.

Lol, 300$ is called high price. In russia 1020 costs 1000$. RIP Nokia. Even if russian prices are retarded, they usually 30-50% higher, but, 200%- nice joke

The high price is a fatal flaw. Customers would be wary of spending so much for a relatively unknown OS. Nokia should build up Windows Phone's reputation first before asking for that kind of price.

Websites have made allegations that MAJOR OS update that is likely to succeed WP8 will not make it to current devices. Definitely disturbing for new buyers.
Better buying an S4 or HTC One + a happy life till 2years.

HTC One is the best Android phone when it comes to both hardware and software. Sense 5 is the only nice custom Android UI. Everything else looks cheap and amateur.

I wouldn't buy an Xperia Z instead of a SGS4 and HTC One. I've used an Xperia Z in a store and I was appalled by its poor screen quality. Xperia Z screen looks like those of cheap Chinese Android phone's screen. Even some of them have better screens than Sony's.
