Pura 80 will have continuous zoom 3x to 8x optical zoom, so my pura 70 ultra has 3.5x optical zoom but supports upto 5x portraits so pura 80 flagship may support 10x portraits.

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2024Between Kirin and Crapynos. I'll definitely pick crapynos 🙄Exynos is not crap, it is pretty good. Kirin, despite all the hurdles created by US government, is doing pretty well actually. Give it another 5 years and it will only get better. Give it another 10 years and it will surpass all western chipsets. By then, US has nothing that it can win against China, let's just hope that they don't become sore loser you know.. like that high school kid who lost a game and start punching his friend because he lost, and ask his other friends to start attacking that friend who just beat him in that game.. actually... that illustrates perfectly of what the US government is doing right now.

Anyway, I think all modern chipsets are already too powerful for average person, you don't need the latest and greatest just to make sure your phone is running smoothly all the time, even midrangers like exynos 1380, 1480, snapdragon 7 gen 3, gen 2, snapdragon 7s gen 3, gen 2, dimensity 7300, dimensity 8300 are all good enough to push that smooth 120 hz screen and also for most tasks that you do on your phone, unless you are super impatient that you cannot wait for that extra .1 seconds for the app to be loaded on a midrange smartphones (I am talking about basic apps such as phone, messages, web browser, maps, YouTube, instagram, Tik Tok, WhatsApp, Gmail, but hey, even midrangers can load the games pretty quickly these days)

The reason why US banned Huawei working with TSMC: Huawei = Monster

[deleted post]You think building fab is easy? The reason they still use 7nm is because SMIC still use DUV machine which they bought before they were sanctioned. Current fabs use EUV machine which China don't have. Huawei has no fabs capable of 7nm or better that's why they use SMIC.

Huawei never give up and that's admirable, they are in no rush and keep improving, the day Huawei will produce a competitive processor is not far, they are unique

i don't get it what is stopping Huawei from using custom RISC V cores on their soc since they also have their own harmony os now

Hemedans, 14 Oct 2024They only charge same on paper, but Exynos are always chea... moreS24FE is complete rubbish, just a mockery from Samsung 🤬.

Marco.1, 14 Oct 2024He's right👆, Huawei was the first to announce 7nm but ... moreHuawei has no nm to anounce, they used to Manufacture their soc with Tsmc and now they use SMIC if am not mistaken.

Leave that aside they were working to make small core something which will compete with Apple E cores or Arm A510/520, if they nail down E core and produce something which don't use much power they will be fine, those Big cores are just Gimmicks and winning benchmarks the real deal is how soc perform at low power.

alcatraz, 14 Oct 2024I don't mind Samsung using Exynos. In fact, it's ... moreThey only charge same on paper, but Exynos are always cheaper.

Like new S24FE price already drop as low as €540 as far as I understand that's cheaper than any sd 8 gen 3 or D9300 in Europe.

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2024I very curious how it's compare with Google Tensor cannot be compared nothing works

7nm still? I guess this is going to be either more power hungry OR it's going to be hotter. I don't think there's gonna be much they can do with this UNLESS it's like the 8+ Gen 1 to 8 Gen 3 kinda improvement.

Hopefully I'm wrong and Huawei knocks it out of the park!1

More powerful cores sounds like they're refining their node process to allow higher clocks without using a lot of power. That's good.

I wish Kirin chips be used by other phone brands soon. I like huawei but I still prefer Android over HarmonyOS. Even IoT devices or tablets/laptops would be cool if they came with Kirin. I like to support the underdog for more innovation and lower prices.

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2024People here complain about samsung and google using exynos,... moreI don't mind Samsung using Exynos. In fact, it's great that they compete against Qualcomm. That's already a big deal.

It is however quite bad when they charge the same amount of money for Exynos devices as Qualcomm devices. They are not equal.

Either make the Qualcomm devices more expensive or make the Exynos devices cheaper. It seems to me that they refuse to do that becuase they're delusional, thinking they're the same, or trying desperately to convince people they are.
