I live in China where basically all brands bar Google pixels are available and I reckon in large cities Apple must have over 30% of the market. Regularly on public transport it looks like it's over 50% apple. I always go for the Chinese brands because they offer better value in China but I'm not going to try to convince locals to abandon their iPhones. I'm not a fan of iPhones but if others like them then that's fine. It's their money after all.

Apple doesn't deserve this spot. Nothing innovative at all. Samsung to. Not even a designe change, on both of them. They are boring and lazy companies, which always count on brand loyalty. And that guys is the biggest problem of smartphone market. People need to move away from them.

Samsung is always trying to barely holding on. It's either Huawei or Apple or Xiaomi taking away their marketshare in either total, premium or foldables.

Hemedans, 14 hours agoThe graph total percantege is 101%. some of the percentages get rounded up and down, just how it happens sometimes

For samsung, 70% of their sales comes from budget and midrange devices.
And for Apple, it comes from last year's models.

The graph total percantege is 101%.

samsung trying to be apple, we know samsung can can actually implement some useful features into their products and make a good phone but no the only thing we're gonna get next year is a small redesign only for the note, slightly upgraded camera, more ai and 8 gen 4

                            2015: S6 edge
                            2016: S7 edge
                            2017: S8
                            2018: S9
                            2019: S10e
                            2020: S20
                            2021: S21

                            ^ And their Note/Ultra counterparts.

By 2022 with the S22, their designs got stale. Flip 4 and Fold 4 didn't look different from their predecessors. S22 Ultra had the awful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which overheated more than the 888 and ruined the S22 Ultra's battery life. Then sides got flatter, sharper, and Samsung lost the camera island on the Ultras. I will say the base S23 is best looking during the last 3 years.

It's tough to remain innovative when Samsung has to cover EVERYTHING: S, Ultra, Z Flip / Fold, A, FE.. ect. Apple only has to cover fewer markets with 5 different iPhones per year: Base, Plus/Slim, Pro, Pro Max, SE.

                            Ranking my favorite S designs...
                            1. S7 edge
                            2. S6 edge
                            3. S10e
                            4. S9
                            5. S8
                            6. S21
                            7. S23
                            8. S24
                            9. S22
                            10. S20
                            11. S3
                            12. S2
                            13. S5
                            14. S4 (overrated)
                            15. S1 (many variations to this model)

Perhaps Samsung gets innovative again when they release their first rollable next year? Honestly, looking at my beautiful titanium silver S7 edge, there was a time Samsung beat Apple in hardware for at least 7 years (2015-2021). Their S6 was better than the S6. Their base S21 and S21 Ultra looked better than the iPhone 13 series.

This is SAMSUNG. Call them, Samsuck or Scamsung, but they made better phones than Apple and Sony in the previous decade. One of the few companies who can manufacture their own phones with their own parts. That put a heart sensor on the S5. That gave us the S-Pen and periscope lens. What happened after 2021? They became fat cats. But Samsung from 2015-2021 was killing it.

Looks like Apple will outsell Samsung this year too for the whole year.
