I'm jaded about Android updates. Most updates are to polish Android and Google leaves the crazy features to Samsung or Xiaomi etc. Google is no longer interested on making beefy updates, makes it hard for old devices to update and fragmentation gets even worse for android.

We talking here about 15th version of Android, not some early version, you dont need to be expert to just look around you and see what users use and what they want. In this stage stock android should be polished to point where it have all necessary addons build in and it should be optimized to the point where it could run on lowest hardware... and here we have stock android that just to run it self need lots of power and battery and it have more data syncing services in background than NSA or facebook will ever need.
And to make that point, modders could gut out most of useless stuff from stock pixel and optimize it so it is possible to make it REALLY STOCK and still add usefull features...

pixel experience (features that only pixel phones have)
later they changed that too (now most flagships have those features under various names)
now pixel lacks excitements (nothing new, only early features and updates) even 'A series'

After moving to pixel 7 and then 8 I realize how empty stock android is and it lack basic feature that every other company have on their OS versions... and now when I checked android 15 that bring some of it I realize that those feature still feel like early beta versions -_-
But worst is that they slap bunch of useless addons just to fill changelog. And all those "features" like that theft protection is more annoying than useful.
Google mastered bringing stuff that no one use because they doesnt work in real world and removing or not updating things that people use or want...

In fact, for a guy who had many iPhones in last 5-6 years (from 8 to 13 series, because b**ches love iPhones and I needed to talk with a lot of b**ches in this time on iMessage, lol), I am actually glad that I have something like Control Center on my Android phones now.
If they will bring back the Face ID too (I think it was present on Xiaomi Mi 8, because I had that phone as second hand, at some point), is perfect for me. lol.

If side loading is allowed, every permissions will be allowed too. Only thing is at the time of installation it may try to guide you to avoid side loading.

Not a single iPhone in any color looks better than the titanium silver S7 edge. Then S8 came along and made every manufacture copy that design.
