It's nasty enough that you should probably hold off on updating.

That's why people are avoiding pixel. Too unstable for common people. I missed the android partnership program making android flagship reference models like nexus with LG, HTC, etc

just another day in the world of Pixel users.
When has Google ever pushed a new update that didn't break something in their hardware?

Sad days for tech. We now have updates ruining phone screens with green lines, destroying motherboards and bricking whole devices. Unlike in the past where we used to eagerly rush to update to the latest software, now we have to be cautious Not to immediately install latest update.
Granted, bugs were there and will be there, but the severity just seems getting worse and worse.
How did we get to this?

So apparently bricking smartphones and smartwatches is the newest gift of these big tech DEI companies to the customer.

Something very similar happened with my nexus with the lollipop update. I never recommend anyone to buy a nexus or pixel device. They are just prototype devices and their buyers are like testers. Why would anyone want to pay to get a beta version device. This story has remained consistent since google has been making devices.

But the worst downside is how quickly they start phasing out and discontinuing support for older apps. Apps that work perfectly well, without any issues, mind you.

Android really needs to start natively adding a sandbox with legacy support for apps and games.
