                Nice Android copy and privacy from a company that got banned for spying looks rather like a joke :)

                  Is this OS going global? It looks really good, good job to Huawei for producing a good looking user interface

                      Anonymous, 23 Oct 2024Actually, For Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo Switching to HarmonyOS... moreWhat is their incentive for switching though? Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo all sell phones outside of China, so they can't leave Google and GMS.

                      The only reason why Harmony Next isn't DOA in China is because China actually has two crucial eco systems, Wechat and Alipay, as long as Next has those they have a chance as you can pretty much do whatever you need on those.

                        Useless as outside CN no support and my device stuck at HarmonyOS 2.0.
                        There no point the news pointing it as rival to Android nor iOS as infant and exclude from rest of the world.

                          Hopefully this can continue where Windows Phone has left off. I'm still impressed with my Mate 20's performance, so I'm looking forward to this new era of third mobile OS.

                                    trash OS outside china

                                      I'm really curious to try this one out.
                                      I highly doubt the average joe outside of China would be able to fully switch to it, given that banking apps, government apps, etc., won't be available for it. Unless people do switch, which won't happen because there are no apps available, and there are no apps available because there are no users, so... that's quite the catch 22.
