Anonymous, 23 Oct 2024Their business is in the US. Apple, Qualcomm, AMD, Nvidia ... moreYou just said It.
Manufacturing tools are made in EU -> ASML, yet US is commanding them what to do with the tools they bought by their own money.
And Apple, Qualcomm, AMD, Nvidia Intel are also dependent on TSMC.
US is acting like they own the world.

"TSMC issued a statement, saying it is a "law-abiding company" that is committed to complying with all rules and regulations, including applicable export controls. "
I thought TSMC was a Taiwan based company, but It looks like I was mistaken and It's an US company. Or the worse case is that Taiwan is controlled by US behind the scenes.

Strangely the report doesn't mention a product that uses ta Ascend 910B. Huawei says that they never announced this chip or have it in any devices. Maybe one more made up story?
After all we still wait for more than 5 years for the proofs that Huawei is spying. On the other hand, we have solid proof that the US is spying on anyone using android, iOS and Microsoft products.

Huawei's AI chip uses their own architecture.
TSMC manufactured some chips using this architecture before 2020.
It's IMPOSSIBLE for TSMC to notice it.

What US expected? Its Taiwanese company. Their whole industry is very close to mainland China. NOW, Huawei will copy it, and make their own.

It's always the same shhhhh with Huawei. They can't keep their hands clean. I'm not even sure they are trying to at this point.
The irony is this story is about TSMC, America and Huawei. Nobody can touch America, so everyone's go to move is to take out their aggresion on Samsung and Apple. Since Apple is basically untouchable, most toxicity is against Samsung.

To no one's surprise. Wouldnt be surprised if Honor is involved in this somehow.
There are only a few companies that would dare to do this.

I totally disagree with it too but it seems like any company that uses any American technology cannot supply Huawei. Products are so global now with tech from many countries but there is nearly always some American technology involved somewhere along the line. Don't know where these rules originated though or what the consequences would be if TSMC and other companies like ASML ignored them

TSMC isn't American and most of the tech they use comes from ASML which is a Dutch company. So, what's Murica whining about it? If TSMC wants to make chips for Huawei, they can damn well do so.
