Google and their 2 year behind strategy for SoCs.
Freshly released Pixel 9 series performance is less than half of SD gen4.
Their future G6 should've been already used for pixel 9 series to be competitive.

all these recent soc performance and improvement; catching up and exceeding, came after apple engineering team members joined qualcomm/ndivia/amd/samsung.
only arm/apple left alone. (btw all above are based on arm license).

And if you use OfferUp here in America, you can get a Pixel 8a for $300 or below and they're brand new. Pixels have the worst resell value and plummets in price in the used market after a few months.
The price of phones using Snapdragon 8 Elite will go up if the chip itself costs $190 to use.

This is not good. I do not want to see TSMC have a monopoly on high end semi-conductor production. Samsung needs to step up with their manufacturing processes.

Disingenuous at best

It been reported in articled here that Samsung and Google didn't get along, the Tensor G3 nine core was the unique and has / had, better potential for improvement (look at what the 10 Core Exynos has done is doing for Samsung.
Afaik there was little or no Samsung personal involvement in the lack lustre Tensor G4 (reverting back to 8 Core) The G4 is ranked below Exynos 2400E and the 2022 D9200 & Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

SoC ain't easy , fortunately Google can use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 as a template
1x 3.3 GHz – Cortex-X4
3x 3.15 GHz – Cortex-A720
2x 2.96 GHz – Cortex-A720
2x 2.27 GHz – Cortex-A520
Still 2 years behind.
Pixels are OVERPRICED, so whilst Apple / Samsung (Qualcomm) Vivo (Mediatek) have flagship phone, Google is charging similar premium price for mid range SoC

I liked their gpu either on PC or later in android mobiles, for example in motorola razr maxx.
