The Android Freak, 26 Oct 2024Xiaomi 14 or 14 Ultra?Xiaomi 14 sold massively. I remember reading about it. As of the end of Septemeber the Xiaomi 14 had sold over 7 million devices. The Xiaomi 14 ultra has not sold anywhere near 1 million devices (or at least it hadn't when I read that report).

Below is a Chinese source on the sales statistics of the standary Xiaomi 14 for reference. This is why now most of the Chinese brands are trying to release more compact phones. The Xiaomi 13 and 14 were a massive success for Xiaomi and they had zero competition from other Chinese brands who had no relatively compact phones with flat screens. The market has shown that they want compact flat screen devices.

    everyone else has a huge headstart so it'll be tough, i give them 2-3 years before they're back to being the best chinese brand tho, they're doing insane work.

            Currently using the Vivo IQOO 12 (domestic variant) which runs OriginOS, I can understand why Vivo is on top there.

Xiaomi is using 1 inch sensor since four iterations. And results are so damn good. Samsung nowhere near it. It's just Xiaomi, Vivo needs to do well in their software department. Oppo is doing good in software. Oppo just need to bring Find X8 Ultra globally.

Price is too goddamn high for what it offers. One Plus 12 has nailed the pricing in Global. Just not in China. With Oxygen OS 15, I will still recommend buyers to go with One Plus 12 and not Samsung. Yes, Samsung UI is feature rich, but pricing it too high doesn't make sense. Samsung needs to innovate now. It's high time.

It doesn't do value for money justice. Also, One Plus Ace 3 released with UFS 3.1 storage. Completely unacceptable. Redmi K70 series was better than this. Realme GT 5 Pro/iQOO 12 was lot cheaper for same specs. Same is going to happen now. From my early impressions, Realme GT 7 Pro and iQOO 13 has nailed the performance and camera and battery life.

                                Q3 includes iPhone 16 figures? It should because the phones were released in September. Just need to see how well they fared in Q4.

                                China is the most competitive smartphone market and the brand lustre of Apple is waning.

                                  And it's expected that the Chinese will support their own. They should with all the non stop attacks done to them by sore losers in Washington.

The market in China is very different between large cities and rural areas. In the large most developed cities Apple has a huge market share as does Huawei (much larger than their overall market share) and Vivo has a much lower market share. In small less devekooed cities Vivo has huge market share as they focus more on the smaller cities. Where I am in a large city there are way fewer Vivo stores than Xiaomi and Huawei who have stores everywhere. Xiaomi has also been making gains in big cities. The Xiaomi 14 was a very big seller
