jiyen235, 25 Oct 2024Vivo on top...?? in CHINA????? HOLY MOLY. They've been... moreVivo has been at the top orclose to the top for a while. The market in China is very different between large cities and rural areas. In the large most developed cities Apple has a huge market share as does Huawei (much larger than their overall market share) and Vivo has a much lower market share. In small less devekooed cities Vivo has huge market share as they focus more on the smaller cities. Where I am in a large city there are way fewer Vivo stores than Xiaomi and Huawei who have stores everywhere. Xiaomi has also been making gains in big cities. The Xiaomi 14 was a very big seller

The Chinese government employs anywhere from 30 to 740 million people. No one knows the real number. The Chinese government is Huawei's biggest customer. Add the propaganda and social pressure to buy Huawei and Honor and it almost seems overdue that Huawei would displace Apple and Samsung in the rankings.
Honor is a state owned enterprise of the Shenzhen province.
This is all in the Huawei wiki.

And no, the reports are right and even corroborated by Hikary_Calyx on Twitter: People do buy Huawei due to nationalism sentimentalism. There has been propaganda thrown around for it, which makes sense due to their close ties with the government.

I have a very bad news for the iFans.
This year Q4, Apple won't have the sine wave.
Because this year Q4 have Huawei Mate XT, Vivo X200 series, Xiaomi 15 series, Oppo Find X8 series & iQoo 13 series.
This will be the worst Christmas for iFans.

I don't understand why many web site copying the "story" made by "eagle" that Huawei rise is because of nationalism.

Bot10, 25 Oct 2024I personally think the best chinese android skin is colorOS... more1. I think if you used to Chinese Android layout, you can use any of the chinese android easily. Samsung trying to be "unique" make it harder to get used by the Chinese audience.

                2. Samsung get fall behind in some of key tech, and they just use "talk"/"word" to fight. In battery/charging speed, Samsung really fall behind, and Samsung just using "not safe" & "make battery broken faster" is seen as a looser. Then, in Camera, Samsung really 2-3 generation behind the Chinese.

Wow..Oppo with three brands realme, oneplus and itself isn't in the top 5.. Lol

Bot10, 25 Oct 2024I personally think the best chinese android skin is colorOS... morein terms of software yeah maybe Oppo is better but in terms of raw camera prowess? i lean towards Vivo, Oppo's processing is basically on par but Vivo's better hardware man.... just mmm

anyways, yeah!!! Samsung can't be seen anywhere near the top 5 in the past year, showing how vicious the Chinese market is, and that's good! Chinese consumers use their heads! And look at the foldable market, Samsung ones are a minority. Oppo didn't even release a foldable this year and their sales are like half of Samsung lmao, it's all crazyy man

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2024Y series is their most popular not sure if China even has the Y series lol

Vivo on top...?? in CHINA????? HOLY MOLY. They've been maintaining the lead with quite a healthy margin for 2 quarters, i mean no wonder, their phones are basically PEAK. The X200 series is better than the Find X8 series imo so i expect this trend to continue.

Apple's sales graph is so pretty looking, it's like a sine wave, the peak occurs at Q4.

The Huawei graph is interesting too, their sales have been rising for a while, would be interesting to see next year's data. Huawei and Honor funnily seem to have an inverse relationship, as Huawei's rising, Honor is falling.

I love articles like this, wish there was a separate tab/tag for these and a quarterly report was always pushed in the front page.
