Ofcourse 0 updates from Samsung to fix the issue, enthousiast had to develop a fix in custom kernels. Never scamsung for me since then.

Hikari, 12 hours agoWhy do people bash OnePlus for the green line and not a wor... moreExactly, Samsung is has very frequent display issues comparatively. Go to any used phone market and you'll see almost all devices having dots or lines in display are Samsung phones.

Why do people bash OnePlus for the green line and not a word for Samsung?
Lots of Samsung phones, both budget and premium have been notoriously getting green lines after a few years or an update

I just hope the Chinese version has band 20 and can flash oxygen like OnePlus 12 does , will work out much cheaper

IP 68 is only useful when you want to submerge it in water, splashing water has a small force/pressure but when submerged in water, the pressure is higher so that's why IP 68 is cool for that.

No one should do that imo because no one really knows that they're only talking about CLEAN water. I see most people going into swimming pools with chemically fused water or into beaches with salt water. The phone's not properly protected against those. I blame misleading marketing for that.

Like, let's say you get a 2022 Corolla that's a 5.5/10 car but it actually is the best for its price and is one of, if not the best value oriented car there is. The 2023 Corolla removes the base tier and so seems to have a price hike but just has the more premium stuff as default but also adds some really nice features like let's say better speakers/aerodynamics. The 2024 corolla on the other hand, has a superior engine and better driving dynamics, but come at 90% of the cost of a Camry, at that point, is the corolla's improvement worth it anymore? That's exactly how I feel about the price hike this year, it's like the Oneplus 8 Pro/9 Pro all over again.

It has IP65 splash proof nevertheless even with frequent water splashes it works fine for me. Great VFM. OnePlus 13 could be on the same lines as well.

Probably going to be the most balanced flagship in its price range in China. Basically has almost everything. Wireless charging, ultrasonic fingerprint, top 2k screen, best motor available among all the Chinese flagships, periscope camera, USB 3.2. Large battery, wireless charging. Looks very solid. Is there any other phone that will offer all these at the same price point?

OnePlus biggest problem I have seen personally (at least 3 devices) is their screen getting lines after 2-3 years of normal use. Hope they fixed it now. When I went to get screen replacement in their service centres, I could see almost everyone there (around 50-100) were lifted their mobiles with the lines in their screens (8 Pro, 9 Pro etc..). They were nice to me gave two coupon worth $400 each for the two devices I purchased (one for self and other for my dad).

Anonymous, 14 hours agoWhere it says 8-bit panel? It doesn't, but the majority of these panels aren't natively 10-bit because that would increase power consumption, which would mean more heat would be expelled, causing an increased chance of burn-in. At least that's the explanation for it, I don't know if that's really true anymore when smartphone displays have gotten really efficient.

PureOS, 15 hours agoSute, i will kept brightness on 100% to have DC dimming.... It's got DC dimming at all brightness levels, not just at 100%. The way in which it's phrased is badly done, hence why you got confused. This could genuinely be the OLED display that fixes your problems with them (though FRC being used for HDR is still a problem — it's probably still 8bits+2bits FRC instead of 10bits natively).
