Indonesia bans sale and use of iPhone 16 series

The ban is a direct result of Apple's unmet investment commitments in the country.

I can understand clueless bules thinking they know better but honestly it's really odd how many "Indonesian" here is defending Apple considering:
- Apple is already an extremely minor brand in Indonesia.
- Meaning most of these Apple defenders probably doesn't even use iPhone.
- Most if not all people who can afford buying Apple new can also buy, import, and pay tariffs from Singapore.
What's even weirder is that some of these people vehemently hated Apple and their users before but when a government ban it somehow Apple is good Apple is friend? Like... What?

      Who would buy a mobile phone with no fitting for a wristrap , supplied without a case and/or wriststrap or charger, in a box designed to ensure the item arrives damaged if at all possible-
      there is NO padding protection against shock damage for this very expensive item and its precision lenses....

        When company want to sell it in Indonesia
        They must pay tax and give the IMEI number to govt to be put on the whitelist

        BTW, This is also against the FREE-TRADE of WTO.

                  To be honest as a member of WTO,
                  Indonesia were not right in this situation.

                  Indonesia can't force any brand to manufacture in Indonesia or be banned.
                  This is a completely wrong, and can make Indonesia in a very bad situation.

Foxconn is definitely not the only iPhone assembly manufacture, single source manufacturing is way too dangerous for a company that large. Foxconn, Pegatron, Compal Electronics, and Wistron are all different companies that assemble iPhones at different locations all around the world as to not have a single source like with the Tata iPhone plant that just caught fire a month ago halting the iPhone 16 being built there. Indonesia makes no sense for them to be assembled there for such a small amount of iPhone sales, just pay the rest of the import fee and move on.

                                  Whatevs, 11 hours agoI wonder if Samsung, Xiaomi, and other manufactures met tha... moreXiaomi have factory in city called Batam which it's near Singapore, from what i know Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Infix or mostly big brand of android already have factory in Indonesia and they follow all the Indonesia gov rules, only Apple is not, that's why mostly Iphone unit from Indonesia distributor have a lot of problem start from screen, since they can easily change parts before sell it to customers
