jiyen235, 30 Oct 2024more brightness = more heat. The more heat there is the mor... moreMore power is what causes the heat. Heat isnt what produces the power. You dont even know that and says 'aint deep bro'. Lmao.

1989, 30 Oct 2024Who told you heat is the main problem?more brightness = more heat. The more heat there is the more power each organic element in the OLED uses, as a result of that, the burn in is accelerated. If you look at TVs you'll see that the brightest TVs use heat sinks, MLA, QD-OLED's new tech and so on.

Organic elements die off, i agree, but their longevity is determined by heat. Which is why OLEDs are so conservative with their brightness. If you want to see what else heat can do, look at RTINGS's excellent longevity test and see how heat has caused Edge-Lit TVs to fail faster/in a worse way than OLEDs despite being LCDs. Improper heat management kills electronics, it ain't that deep bro it's just simple.

The larger the display, the more heat generated. Which is why the Tab S9 Ultra is so conservative with its brightness.

Tabs are still far less likely to be burned in than monitors, it's just a fact. You're acting like it's a widespread issue when it's not.

Oh and LCD guys all act like low cost LCDs don't exist, they always yap about LCDs but forget to mention how LCDs have white patches after 2-ish years and the screen uniformity gets considerably worse. Ofc you won't talk about that, that doesn't fit your narrative.

OLED isn't perfect but it has the least amount of cons on mobile devices. On TVs i'd agree that LED still has a place but on mobile devices? Give me break.

jiyen235, 30 Oct 2024tablets aren't large enough to suffer badly from that ... moreYet, it still burns in. Yes they are using lumberjack solutions to avoid this.
Size doesn't play a role here, each pixel is emitting photons, each emission is playing a role in it's lifespan

Gusta, 30 Oct 2024Be careful when u are working on Office app like MS Office,... moretablets aren't large enough to suffer badly from that AND they use different OLED materials compared to TVs and Monitors which lead to better longevity.

CargoJoe, 30 Oct 2024Only thing missing is LTE. Like why are tablets of all shap... moreCost. In reality, the target market of these Chinese brands would opt for a cheaper version if both are offered, so wifi version would sell a lot more than a cellular version anyway. Thus the OEMs would simply skip making the cellular version.
