Honor Magic7 Pro unveiled with a 200MP tele camera, vanilla Magic7 powered by the SD 8 Elite

30 October 2024
Both are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, actually. Both have LTPO displays and both are rated IP69. But only the Pro has that awesome 200MP tele camera.

Killer hardware. 🔥💯 Two real flagships and not "obvious choice plus cut down model to make it even more of an upsell"
If they improve their software in western markets I'm buying it.

Does not looks bad but some other brands did a better job i think.

What a weird move from Honor, but like Oppo did it before with the Find X6 Pro, 2.8x zoom but only 3x and 6x crops are available in the viewfinder and even for video. Ig the sensor quality is so good it doesn't really matter, i don't see too much of a difference between 2.8x and 3x in the find x6 pro so ig the honor could do even better due to the large sensor.

You can see during the video test that it doesn't show the 3x buttons anymore, it goes back to 2.6x which is the real focal length. https://youtu.be/5OxaQADRhdA

EMUI/Magic OS is far more stable & optimized than HyperOS currently.

In the official page for the product, 3x zoom is mentioned under the overview tab but 60mm focal length is mentioned under the specifications tab.

The specification page of Magic 7 Pro clearly states 24mm and 60mm focal lengths respectively, so the zoom level is most certainly 2.5x.

Which Honor had been more ambitious and given at least 70mm (actual 3x zoom) with the same sensor.

I just hope Honor can improve the camera's photo processing algorithm. Last year's Magic6 Pro is not bad, but it's not on par with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Vivo X100 Pro.
