I have Oneplus 12 in Germany and the phone receives very rare updates. Plus they lied about OxygenOs 15. It is 31 October and there is no Beta. So i will sell this phone and buy the Pixel 9. Oneplus dont care about Europe

Flat displays are obviously an improvement and curved displays were much more problematic. The same goes for ip rating. You're explaining sth that doesn't disprove the argument of the first comment.
Curved displays is very prone to crack. How? The curved display going around edges makes it receive the impact from that area when you drop your phone. If there's aluminium or any metal covering the edges they take that impact better than glass. There's a tiny amount of plasticy glue on the edges of every display and it helps the glass not to receive impact, bouncing structurally.
Another thing with curved display is that you can't install tempered glass easily. Companies struggles with making a perfect curved full sticky screen protector. There's one methodology that I used a lot that you use uv curring glue while installing. However if you somehow crack that that glass and if your glass doesn't come off with that hardened glue, good luck! It's so damn hard to get rid of that glue... I went through hell throughout the years with curved displays.
The protectors have been already mentioned. The difficulty of installing a real tempered glass (either fully sticking with uv glue or partial sticking ones) along with the register of the fingerprint as most of the fingerprints are under display and even ultrasonic mostly nowadays.
For the sake of the esthetics, they make these flagship devices with darn curved displays. I don't even mention the difficulty with single hand using that the display registers accidental touches on the edge. Then producers had the idea of decreasing the sensitivity in that areas making it hard to touch there when you're using an app such youtube to drag and leave the player seeker.
Another point also that the curved displays are really hard to repair when it comes to changing the glass only. What I mean is that most of the cases of a broken display involves the situation that top glass cracked which is hardly glued during production on the top of the real display layer. There's a repair method for this involving the heat and carefully dissecting the display from glass. Later you install another glass with OCA, apply pressure/Suction to sit just fine. Guess what? It's so damn easy with flat displays to enter that layer between two. But so damn hard to do with curved that you can kill pixels all together.
Every time a curved glass cracks and the display unit itself is fine, what people do is to order a whole display unit again and throw the old one in thrash. The planet is full of electronic waste so good luck the future of humanity. Profitability over repairable... Damn companies and their strange unfriendly decisions...
Should I count even more? Or the ones above are satisfactory?
What do you people even know about the devices you're using? Just mumbling over the internet with zero contribution...

Incredibly hard to find ... moreI have a Xiaomi mi 11 3 years now it's curved screen , it's been a pain trying to find good screen protector only one that work well are UV glue type but they have own cons they ain't as cheap hassle to install and over time start lifting off especially if you have back case that touches it
I'm glad they moved to micro curved also I don't like the reflection the edges bring

I've a Xiaomi mi 11 I've never been able to find good one other than UV glue tempered glass, I'm glad they have gone to micro curved and no more edge reflections

As for application of protectors. That is user error i'm sorry. Might be a zadt harder to do on curved screens but overall easy non the less if you find a good one.

Incredibly hard to find good screen protector and even much harder to put it on the screen.
I`m looking for a flagship Android device with a flat screen for a person who often drops the phone and changes screen protectors several times per year.
This is why flat screen is a must have - so it would be easy to find and purchase scren protectors in advance and apply them by yourself, without special equipment.
PS: curved screen IS more fragile if the phone drops on the edge. I`v dropped phones before simply missing the pocket - if it falls on the street, on the ground with some small rocks - curved edge is got hit with all momentum the phone has.

ReStore, 31 Oct 2024yeah only the experience will be different. one will ignore... moreI have been using OnePlus 8 Pro for 3+ Years (plus another family member), my MIL used OnePlus 9 Pro(now One Plus 12 R) and now One Plus 12 (16 GB - 512 GB)for close to one year. My family members used OnePlus 6 for 5 years. Yes, we had lines issue after using 8 Pro for 3 1/2 years but we got the discount coupon worth $400 while replacing it. They provide software updates even after 3 1/2 - 4 years. I haven’t seen practical bugs in these One Plus and due to its extreme specs it has, the performance has always been outstanding so far. It has wireless charging, LTPO OLED Panels, enormous RAM, SD Elite (which is apparently drouncing all chipsets including A18 Pro. What else you want for this price that beats iPhone 16 base model?

Oneplus keeps on forgetting their place in industry. They are already banned in Germany for patent issues. Now with this price Increase, this thing probably will cost around almost 1400-1500€ in Europe for 1 TB. Then you better buy iPhone or Samsung or even Sony for premium hardware quality (all comes with 512Gb for almost same price)
