But still they didn't mentioned front & back glass protection. If they use other than flagship Corning Gorilla Glass protection this will be HUGE Deal breaking news for me.

Just will stay out of the One Plus brand due to the display green line issue which occoured second time in the consecutive year with no screen replacement policy which was promised free by One plus.

I wish they would work through carriers here.

But now the prices seems to be expensive even for these Chinese smartphones. I don't think customers love to pay almost similar price like iPhones and Samsung for OnePlus. OnePlus should know their place in the market. They are neither the best in terms of quality nor in price anymore.

Audio, 02 Nov 2024Nah man I don't get it, OnePlus has just devolved into... moreincremental ? that's every phone manufacturer from the usual improvements I think OnePlus has done well this year and about reskinned SD Gen4 ? Have you not seen past releases this release actually been one of the better uplifts mainly because jump to 3nm , good performance uplift with lower power consumption
Next year I will be surprised if they can get the same uplift
If you want to talk about incremental update look at Samsung, pixel , apple whilst charging more
Pointless 100w charger ? at least you get one in the box and it's fast

You buy into a brand that probably would just push out a "new" phone every 6 month. But then again what manufacturer doesn't these days.... It still looks absolutely hideous lmao

Nah man I don't get it, OnePlus has just devolved into an incremental update only jack of nothing manufacturer. That unless you really want a reskinned SD Gen4 with a pointless 100w charger that only works with their phones. Hard pass especially at that point, because their phones are built like a turd wrapped in fancier plastics.

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2024New chips are so efficient. Let's see how they would... moreIf the chip is more efficient that means they can make it do more with the same power draw. That's why you don't see phones lasting a week on a single charge despite batteries being 3-4X the mAh vs a decade ago. They always target a full day of use.

Kangal, 01 Nov 2024Oh if you want the nostalgia trip, I'll give it to you... moreI'd have to disagree. New phones from companies like Samsung and even Apple are much easier to repair than even a few years ago. Batteries are now removable and even have pull tabs. SD cards were relevant when phones were 16-32gb but now with 256gb and 512gb being pretty standard it's no longer needed. Last several new phones I bought offered double the storage for the same price.

Still its battery could not last as much.
Also, if phone like iphone 8 could score 56h, then iphone SE3 should be able to score same even if battery capacity was much smaller.
If you insert 8g3 inside and old phone ( 2014-2016), it will mot give you 2-3x the endurace those ohones had back then. But should.
99,999999999% of tasks can be easily done by even 4g1.
Besides wasting hours per day using phone as PlayStation, nobody comes to tell me single plausible benefit of having a $190 SoC instead of simpler one.

Yes, it is a different philosophy and business model. Otherwise, then it would not be possible to explain the differences between the similar priced flagship devices. OnePlus used to give great software support, and that did change after the OnePlus 3t, as the company became less independent. But there is nothing stopping Oppo today to announce that the upcoming OnePlus 13 will come with 6-Years software support.
Between all the smartphone manufacturers, there are some differences:
- Apple pushes maximum brand popularity, big profit margins, and locked in expensive services
- Samsung pushes for similar things, using technology from various sources
- Sony treats it's flagship like a showcase for their technology in cameras and displays
- Xiaomi is attempting to provide good value devices to expand its Mi Services
- Huawei (Honor) are trying to become a behemoth in Mainland China
- BBK Electronics (Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, iQoo, Realme, etc etc) are attempting to maximise their worldwide market share.

unxpctd, 01 Nov 2024Somebody finally gets it. Qualcomm has been increasing the ... moreI only buy phones with flagship chipsets and I am happy with them. With that said, I tested OP 10t (SD 8+ gen 1) against Galaxy Note 10+ (SD 855) for speed and the newer processor was a bit faster for the record but the difference was not big and only noticeable when comparing both phones side by side. You wouldn't notice the difference in daily use. So yeah, an older processor is not necessarily bad.

Why even bother giving IP69 rating when they don't even cover warranty for water damages? I rather see companies focus more on MIL-STD shock resistance instead of IP water resistance.
