hmmm... wish there were some battery drain tests using video recording, app switching, maps, etc.... And see how much the new chipset drains or how efficient it is....

Maybe I should just buy a Sd 8 gen 3 phone and not risk it with the new chipset

      OLED is bad.
Just look at the first photo in this article.
Can you see the rainbow colors on the cheap OLED screen?

I think either costs of both are similar OR manufacturers are just getting greedy this year but yeah something seems fishy about earlier claims. I guess Dimensity chips were the one that got price hikes after all lol. Something's reallyyyy fishy

Also the find x8 is worse than the find X7 and it increased the price. Basically both chips seem to have increased by a similar amount. No significant difference in price gap between dimensity and snapdragon compared to last year. If anything it's narrowed

Worth to Skip as it is 1st gen of SD8 elite. with newer architecture. i just save my money for upcoming.

This part says a lot “We also encountered some troubles during testing, but this might just be due to teething issues”
I would not be surprised if it is the same issues another review site found with it. It is giving S810.

I don't think that's correct. Anandtech did a series of tests almost a decade ago and most apps made heavy use of 6 cores even back then.

You can check it yourself by using any app like CPU Float for ex. that allows to see the CPU frequencies in an overlay. Root isn't required. With W/ADB and/or Shizuku still more info can be gleamed w/o root.

Or anyone specialising in testing performance from real-world applications, like difficult apps, windows emulation, or high-end console emulation. Those are legitimate reasons to pay for such expensive gadgets/chipsets.

I read on other website where they tested this phone they caught Realme detecting Benchmark and using more power then which led to not be able to finish benchmark because of overheating

Aierlan, 31 Oct 2024But in reality the price hikes for Snapdragon 8 elite phone... moreoh my that is an interesting observation but i think it's more important to look at what was removed to achieve that.

The IQOO 13 was nuked in terms of cameras, the Magic 7 is the same as last year (not that it's bad but goes to show that they didn't improve the phone much cus of the cost of the chip), the xiaomi 15 is the same as last year little to no changes, the xiaomi 15 Pro actually lost the variable aperture but gained a 5x telephoto, i dunno what's more valuable but it couldn't be THAT expensive considering xiaomi just slapped the 14 ultra's super telephoto here.

The Find X8 Pro is overpriced, i said that from the start. The X200 Pro is an interesting one, I thought it was overpriced but compared to everyone else it's actually fine considering the way Vivo expertly uses the telephoto sensor. The Magic7 Pro has that same sensor but is more expensive.

Can you see those ugly rainbow colors on the screen in the first picture?
That's shitty OLED tech right there.
That's the pretty rainbow colors that flickers in PWM frequency and makes people blind.
IPS LCD tech doesn't do that and is therefore much better for the users eyes. Plus it has 180° viewing angle.
