I have used pixel 4a and is using samsung a15 5g. Given S24 and Pixel 9 are almost identical performers, your review omits one clear parameter thar makes pixel a clear outright wnner * OS updates.

Pixel Any day will beat S series in speed [both for beta testing and Golden releases updating as well as regular feature drops much ahead of competition].

Isn't it?

Actually battery size is not that matter if the system is optimized.
Just like iphone 16 pro which has less than 3600 mah... but run longer than s24 with 4000 mah.

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2024It's 2024 and samsung still providing 4000mah 😑Guess what! S25 is going to have the same battery. Samsung is in a downfall.

I would have compared the S24 with the 9 Pro though.

Also, Samsung apps are better than Google apps.

Pixels seems good this year but yet too expensive.

Can't wait to see the S25 in a month

udi, 01 Dec 2024s24 is more lightweight, bit advantage in my bookAnd it's even nicer to look at.

In any case, I think they are devices that have the most 'real' photographic impact (NOT fake 'quads' and something of 0.60μm sensors) on the scene. The Pixel seems to show off more natural colors (thanks also to the particular algorithm used in the series), the Samsung more saturated colors.

The Pixel 9 receives 7 years of updates and runs Android Pixel 15 out of the box. The S24 still runs some outdated version of Samsung Experience or whatever. Maybe you'll get the new software by the time the Pixel receives Android 16. The Pixel's performance is top-tier flagship and packed with exclusive AI thanks to Gemini. Scamsung will discontinue the basic S in 2026. Victory goes to #TeamPixel ;)

What compact flagship battle is complete without the x200 pro mini? If in terms of battery, it mops the floor with these two. In terms of SoC, the s25 and the pixel bow before the x200 mini. Cameras? The rest might have a leg to stand on but won't reach as high as the x200 mini. Display and software might be a tossup but I still believe the x200 pro mini is the best choice 9 out of 10 times.

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2024Samsung battery is way too small for a flagship. Ya, budget Samsungs from the same time, December 2023 to January 2024, all have 5000mAh batteries.
                                    Galaxy A15, Galaxy A25

                                    Budget Realme Phones (same time)
                                    V50s, C67, Note 50 (all 5000mAH)

                                    Cubot (known for big batteries)
                                    Note 50, Note 21, Note 40 (all 5200Mah)

And these are all budget devices that are up to 620 Euros less than the two phones compared here.

If we leave the territory of budget devices, we will find Realme, with 6000 - 7000mAh as "standard" and Cubot, which has 10600mAh for their King Kong flagship series. We would have Blackview, with 8000 - 10000mAh on their Flagship BV and BL series.

Very Popular companies lower their batteries on their high end devices because it forces you to charge your device more, therefore slowly degrading the capacity so you will need to buy a new phone every two or three years.

Nowadays all high-end (& mid-range) smartphones from the major brands are very good in ever aspect. You can't make a mistake into buying a "bad" smartphone, like 6-7 years ago.
