Phones are slim enough. If they are to further slim them down, that will inevitably mean a smaller battery, and they don't last long enough as it is for heavy usage with the need of regular charging, nevermind when the battery deteriorates over time.

ArcaneLunk, 02 Nov 2024They're thin enough! Gimme back my "everything... moreThe sad truth is multi-billionaire companies want to do the exact opposite: they desire to eliminate/simplify as much features as possible, especially when it comes to hardware features.

Soon enough, it will be less focus on hardware features and more on AI features. That is the sad reality for people like us who thrive on hardware features like analog audio, expandable storage, etc.

Phones are getting as powerful as PCs, yet ironically they're becoming more and more restricted, both hardware and firmware wise.

I may eventually upgrade my phones, but I will always have at least one old phone that can be rooted and run custom ROMs.

Yeah, I would care for such a phone. But I know most GSMarena readers here don't.

But I do think a large subset of consumers are like me who care for slimness. Like, I'd say 60% of average consumers care.

Just make one of the A series with a smaller screen, preferably below 6.2".

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2024You really replied like the name he called you. 9.7mm in 20... more?????

The S3 "Slim" was actually thicker than the older Galaxy S III. Slim in this case probably meant "Lite" as companies loved making completly unrelated budget variants of their phones back then

Whatever frame they invent it will be very foldable 😅

Who wants a slim phone? I think everyone wants the same phone as now but with much improved battery life/capacity, and really, given the rise of silicon carbon batteries which have better capacity in slimmer profiles, there is no reason not to stick a 6000 mAh battery in S25 and with optimisations you should easily get an extra several hours of medium usage without sacrificing anything

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2024Specs and battery capacity are things that matter on all phones 🤡Why're they booing you? You didn't say that they're the 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 things that matter in a phone.

they got the thickest fold in the market, how are they able to make things phones

DX97, 01 Nov 2024They're one of those very few companies who actually h... moreThey WERE innovating, in the beginning.

Then somewhere between the S20 -S23 series they decided that emulating Apple (and Google) was the way forward........ even though Apple's sales numbers also fell off.

Catering to the masses (and trying to hijack someone else's fan base to a degree as well) aren't guaranteed success formulas.

Their comments to investors last week seem to indicate they get that, but results remain to be seen.

                          They're thin enough!

Gimme back my "everything including the kitchen sink" in the flagships and then you'll have something.

Why is Sammy always ignoring what Majority customer wants instead chose to do something that wont do much for the average consumer.
Most would rather have a bigger battery instead or better cameras any day instead of a few mm thinner ,so what does a thinner version achieve really?.
Modern phones are thin enough as it is; a few mm here and there is not going to make much of a difference but bigger battery/Cameras e.g Zoom or wider Aperture makes a huge difference and is adopted in all the new chinese flagship phones while Sammy tries the gimmicky slimmer version; even their so called slim version like the Z Fold6 SE, is still way thicker than all other competitors lol. Z Fold6 SE and yet still has same 4400Mah since 5 years ago, while everybody else has at least 5000Mah for their Foldables.
Oneplus Open 2 will Shxt all over SSS ZFold SE with 5500 -5700Mah & S25U or whatever slim rubbish they decide to do will probably have a smaller battery. Sammy's hardware is so lagging and ancient that is a joke; no surprise even the S25U will have same 5000Mah since 21U while some other flagships now has over 6000Mah. They dont seem to know what the priority is or just could not care less to listen, customers punishes them right with sales falling of the cliff.
Is it really that hard for Sammy to listen for once!
