      The ROG series lost it's charm since the 8, which for me was like a big downgrade in various ways

                    Bear in mind that the slight refresh rate increase appears to be the ONLY thing differentiating this from the ROG 8 (other than the standard SoC update and some changes to the dot matrix display on the back). It could have been palatable - were it not for the fact that the speakers and haptics on the ROG 8 were horrifically downgraded from the ROG 6/7 series. Unless they've also done some work to restore the speakers, it's a no-sale from me.

                        Honestly, just give me 120fps/Hz with VRR, that is plenty enough.

                        I rather you focus on things that I would ntice.
                        Like I don't know, removable side gamepads in the box. How about returning the 3.5mm aux port. Maybe a microSD / DualSIM slot. Most would appreciate a User Removable Battery. And even better; give us all of the above! This user-friendly market is ripe for the taking!!

                                  Asus still sleeping and seems to be saving a lot on their RoG phone's RnD. Seems like they're recycling the same boring design from their ROG Phone 8 series.

                                  RedMagic will blow them again out of the water with the RM10Pro series and the upcoming RM10Ultra.

                                      this will still be expensive phone and beast SoC is perfect for a phone like this. Game developers should port all AAA games to mobile so it's worth buying this expensive phone. Why would you buy this if there is something like Steam Deck and ROG Ally?

Besides, if they're not making a large number of displays, the quality BETTER be good otherwise they'd go bankrupt.
