Anonymous, 07 Nov 2024this is much better than Nintendo switch for a gaming devicethe switch is half the price, with a microSD card slot, and is way more convenient with far better game support. It does have less raw power but optimisation is the key here. Plus a built in controller.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2024this is much better than Nintendo switch for a gaming deviceIt is designed to run PC games on the move.
This is the great secret of Oryon.
A "Legion Go" with the phone form and splendid lines for those who love this type of Form Factor.
Great news.

I'm really excited for this phone although my Redmagic 8 is no slouch powering through games like a knife through butter. I'm hoping the pricing will remain competitive but I'm expecting an increase in price for the base model of £100. The screen and battery alone make it worthwhile

RedMagic Gamer, 07 Nov 2024RedMagic OS has already been improved starting from the RMO... morenubia's main issue for me is the speaker system, it's nowhere near Asus's past phones but Asus nuked themselves with the ROG 8 so now nubia has a chance. Hope they can improve it, Xiaomi proved that other gaming phones can have excellent speakers with the Black Shark 5.

Tomori, 07 Nov 2024If we are truly dreaming, then, might as well put two HP9s ... moreomg YES that'd be insaaane! the focal lengths are vastly different so don't you think the quality will be hurt? i think one at 60 mm and another at 150 mm would be great cus the 2x crop of these are amazing.

RaviSS, 07 Nov 2024Sort of anti-climactic and disappointing after such a build... moreexcept there's also apparently an ultra model with a bigger display, so 2 models. but like why get disappointed from leaks that can be unreliable, like that one article on a different site incorrectly stating that redmagic is ditching the underdisplay camera, already when there's still like a week before their announcement.

Darth Caesium, 06 Nov 2024Well, I doubt 7" displays will ever be mainstream, but... moreAbsolutely. Consumers should be given wide range of choices, rather than be forced to adopt a 'mainstream' configuration.
Apart from greater choices in terms of display size (which can span even bigger range such as 5"-7.5"), I would like more variations in terms of aspect ratio as well (most smartphones have 19.5-20:9 nowadays). Particularly for small screen sizes, a 18:9 ratio would be a better choice.

Sort of anti-climactic and disappointing after such a build-up. 7" is not that far from 6.85" and could have been easily implemented (would have required around 1.5mm increase in width and 3mm increase in height). In fact anything above 6.95" would have qualified to be called as 7".

Stoon, 06 Nov 2024they should ditch tjat underdisplay camera .... what's... moreYeah, no. This is a gaming phone, where camera is not the main focus, let alone the front camera. Last time I use the front camera was... last year.

Yay, 06 Nov 2024Seems better than the upcoming ROG 9 for sure, I just wish ... moreRedMagic OS has already been improved starting from the RMOS8.0 they're now on their RedMagic OS9.5 launcher version and is very stock Android like, without bloatwares/ads, smooth and light to use. I'd recommend you try the upcoming RM10Pro, which is superior than the RM9Series as well as trumps the ROG Phone 9 series out of the water.
I'm a former ROG Phone user too, had the 3 Strix, 5S and 6D before, all got motherboard issues and no longer working after. Switching to RedMagic, the battery life's super good, can last 2 days in casual use and it has console mode too(Ala Samsung Dex), ROG phones doesn't have that.

Anonymous, 06 Nov 2024I hereby declare anything over 6.5 inches as a tabletSeriously?I'm literally holding a 6.78 inch iQOO Neo 8 in my hand right now and it doesn't feel like one.Not to mention that my last phone was a Poco M5s which is a 6.43 inch phone.Oh yeah and the phone that I had before the Poco was a Redmi 8 which is a 6.22 inch phone lol.
Well the iQOO phone does feel huge as hell in my hand when I hold it for the first time but I eventually got used to it.Everyone got their own preferences so I ain't judgin yall 🤷

Does anyone think that these devices will be any different in terms of software support? Do you think will get more than just 1 major android update and 2 security updates?
