Seems better than the upcoming ROG 9 for sure, I just wish redmagic makes their software better, that's literally the only thing stopping me from buying one lol, the current redmagic os just feels too stiff (I don't know how to explain it)

Anonymous, 06 Nov 2024I would even say ov50e for ultrawide because of dcginteresting but i think HDR videography is a software processing issue on androids, because even Sony can do exceptional HDR, look at LL Techviews' Xperia 1 V HLG samples!

Stoon, 06 Nov 2024they should ditch tjat underdisplay camera .... what's... more..and? put a nice punch hole for your viewing pleasure? lol...the Asus Rog and Xperia phones have small bezel for that nonsense selfie for all the self-indulgent folks. NOOOOO even that would be frowned upon...it is this self absorbed selfie crowd and bezel police that gave rise to these punch holes in the first place

Darth Caesium, 06 Nov 2024The IMX903 is a stacked sensor, which is why I put it on here.does it really matter lol, look at Shibi-Chan's comparison between the Xperia 1 V and 1 IV, the main difference comes down to the sensor size difference, even the old IMX989 thrashes the 1 V, stacked sensors are just a marketing gimmick with at best 1-5% improvement at the same size. A larger sensor will always be better.

I was expecting at least 6.9 inch screen as some other non gaming phones are already offering 6.9 inch. There is also no confirmation yet on the battery capacity. There was so much rumors on bigger screen and high battery capacity, but I don't think all this will come true. Its better to consider the 7 inch and 7000mah as a rumor or as that of the ultra model but don't expect higher.

Stoon, 06 Nov 2024they should ditch tjat underdisplay camera .... what's... moreA gamer don't care about the selfie camera, at least it have. If you want a good selfie camera buy other phone this phone is not for you.

Darth Caesium, 06 Nov 2024"so imagine an X100 Ultra-esque camera setup alongside... moreDamn, why did you forego the amazing 1 incher lol the IMX 903 and 907 are smaller yk? And like, a variable aperture is needed more when the size is larger so imagine a Vivo f/1.6-f/4.0 with an LYT-900 as before.

and OH YES an LYT-808 UW cam sounds amazing but i think a 1/1.56" LYT-700 is good enough for a UW cam, the Find X6 Pro's one was a masterpiece, with proper processing from Vivo it'd be a sure winner imo.

For photography a 2x crop from the main sensor is good enough so i think an intermediate telephoto cam that's like 1/2" and at 2.5x or 60-ish mm would be perfect.

The HP9 has been proven to be an amazing zoomer so there's no need to move to the LYT-808, it's actually a tad smaller lol. So I think instead of a 3.4x, you can have an awesome 2.5x-5x range with the intermediate telephoto and then you have a 5x HP9 telephoto sensor that can do the duty of zooming into 10x. The HP9 is better at 10x than even small optical 10x zoomers i'd say. Maybe in good lighting the smaller sensor might work but even in middling lighting it just is UNUSABLE, i'm saying this from experience as i use an s22U which has a 1/3.52" telephoto, a lot smaller than 1/3" but still, it's not gonna be good i just know it.

The only reason an optical zoom might be necessary is when someone needs videography capability, that's it. Otherwise a 5x to 10x HP9 sensor would be perfect.

So yeah, an LYT-700 as a UW cam, an LYT-900 main cam, an LYT-600 or OV64B as a 2.5x cam and a 5x HP9 would be awesome for photography if utilized properly like the X100 Ultra did. For videography a 10x 1/2" sensor would be pretty cool, what do you think? lol, we're being unrealistic so let's just keep on dreaming eh?

This is a big improvement over RM9 series as they're now upgraded the refresh rate to 144Hz, 1.5k resolution, and a litle bit bigger 6.85" screen.

I'm highly awaiting the RM10 Ultra which is rumored to have a 7"+ screen. Guys, this one's the Pro not the Ultra yet.

Oh for those US users who wants to try data plans on RedMagic, try the carrier name "Nexys mobile" they have prepaid plans for RM devices synced with T-mobile's network. Seen them from RedMagic's official reddit community.

Not in a gross way, but I am salivating at the very thought of that. Change the main camera so that it's instead the IMX907, and it's perfect. A phone with this setup would be absolutely amazing:

                            •Sony IMX903 — 48MP, variable f/1.4-f/4.0 (10-step), 25mm (wide), 1/1.14"-type, 1.4µm, DPAF, LiDAR AF, OIS
                            •Sony LYT-T808 — 48MP, f/1.9, 12.5mm (ultrawide), 1/1.43"-type, 1.12µm, DPAF (1.5cm-∞), LiDAR AF
                            •Rumoured stacked Sony sensor — 48MP, f/2.2, 50mm (telephoto), 1/2.3"-type, 0.µm, DPAF (4cm-∞), LiDAR AF, OIS, 2× optical zoom
                            •Sony LYT-T808 — 48MP, f/2.5, 85mm (periscope telephoto), 1/1.43"-type, 1.12µm, DPAF (10cm-∞), LiDAR AF, OIS, 3.4× optical zoom
                            •Custom stacked Sony sensor — 48MP, f/4.5, 250mm (periscope telephoto), 1/3.0"-type, 0.6µm, DPAF (20cm-∞), LiDAR AF, OIS, 10× optical zoom

Obviously, this is highly unrealistic, but it would be absolutely amazing to have. A 7.5" display would be way too big to own for me, but I would keep such a monstrous device in my backpack or something just for the photos.

Darth Caesium, 06 Nov 2024Well, I doubt 7" displays will ever be mainstream, but... more6.9" and 7" is basically the same but it's more about the message yk?

And i don't mind it not being mainstream, but at least BE THERE, yk? Like, there's literally no new 7 inch+ phones. Kinda sad.

And yes! I agree with you. More choice is always good!! 5.8-6" compact phones and 6.9-7.5" ULTRA phones. I think that's how things should be because things have kind of become constant in the 6.3-6.82" range, there's no variation it seems. And larger phones will naturally allow bigger cameras to be fitted, so imagine an X100 Ultra-esque camera setup alongside a 1/2" 2-2.5x intermediate zoom and/or a farther reaching super telephoto. That'd be crazyyyy.

This year has been quite great in terms of screen, chipset and battery. I hope next year we get improvements in size, speakers, charging and cameras like variable aperture needs to be mandatory on Ultra phones, UW cams need to be better on nearly all phones, better HDR videography capabilities like Sony's HLG, etc. Like the Zenfone 10 had the best speakers i've heard in a sub 6 inch non front speaker phone, so I'm sure others can do better if they tried.
