Last time , it set by default HRR on my phone.
I just noticed because battery was lasting less than usual.
It did not feel any different from 60 while using apps.
It is not worth when extra power is easily more than 20% .. Gsmarena usrd to test 60 x 120 endurance. Difference was huge.

Very interesting. But overall phones are very slim today. Slimmer phones can bend.

Anonymous, 4 hours agoIf you hate connectivity, then unibody metal is indeed grea... moreI have a glass back phone and still have issues with mobile data speeds and connection (calls are handled fine). It's more of a provider thing than metal.
Glass is present in modern phones to ensure , that the their resale value is halved with a single drop, so it doesn't interfere with the sales of new smartphones. Otherwise metal is more premium and more durable and plastic is far more practical (you will put your phone in a case to protect that glass anyways).

Give me a thick phone with curved sides and back and I'll be happy

galaxy flagships have been the slimmest flagships in the market for years. their problem is lack of hw upgrades for 3 years, not thickness. they are still using 2022's camera, same battery capacity and no UWB.

What phone do you have use you recharge twice a week ? You can't be using it much of SOT is 10-11 hrs for the whole week
Think for you best buy cheap low-end/ mid range phone instead of high end

Any phone today can give you this. If you decide to turn your phone into PlayStation, none of them gonna last single day.
4G is far more stable than 5G, while using much less power. Better choice.
120/144/165Hz on screen is pointless. Scrolling faster is dumb.
Android animation is uselless, just wasted battery.
Vibrations that work when person touches screen , also dumb and has no utility. Just more power wasted.
I recharge 2x per week. Phone gives me 10-11h SoT.

Darth Caesium, 5 hours agoLiterally who cares? Why would I want a slimmer phone? Wors... moreLarger + thinner handles better with heat than smaller/thicker.
Reason tavlets do not overheat.
Device A: 17,7cm x 8,0 cm x 0,6cm
Device B : 16cm x 7,5cm x 0,86cm
Device A will have less issues with heat than B. Brand just needs to make components longer and wider than usual. Same for battery. This way they get thinner while keeping volume

I wonder how many experts on materials and manufacturing processes in this comment section actually make a living of their knowledge and how many are just speculators with 10% of the information needed to build a working device.

Edward Coventry, 3 hours agoPhones are going to get thinner over time and that's o... morePhones are not getting thinner without compromises in key areas until Metalenses arrive, because lenses make camera modules take up so much space inside phones that thinner phones cannot be achieved without ridiculously thick camera bumps, which defeat the whole point of thin phones, forcing OEMs to also downgrade camera specs.
Even then, a thicker phone is better if it means a larger battery. If phones in the future are thin enough to have a battery life that lasts for at least 36 hours and have better cameras than now without having a thick camera bump while not overheating just because the device owner looked at them funny, then I'm all here for it. Otherwise, there is no point. Even then, I have found that thin phones don't provide me with enough grip, and the 2024 trend of flat bodies and frames for phones makes this even worse. I cannot imagine how a thin phone that has a flat frame and a flat back could be at all grippy.

If it was slim based on newer silicon carbon battery technology it would be cool
But we know Samsung they are going to make it slim
By only reducing battery capacity and cutting down specs and tech charging $200 extra
