It launched in China first, but it is bound for a global launch - including in the US.

Used a oneplus 8 back in 2020 then got a xiaomi 12tpro to replace it. The oneplus definitely had better battery and thats 4500ma versus 5000ma although I'd say the xiaomi has degraded less than the oneplus did.. I've hammered the xiaomi on gaming since day one.. Approaching 750, charge cycles and still gives the promised 80% of original battery after 700charges/2years

      So snapdragon brings insane clock speeds with it's custom cores while dimensity 9400 hardly breaks a sweat with its standard cores. Even worse is that the dimensity actually beats the snapdragon this year.

        would love to buy it, but don't think you would be able to see much improvement in terms of day to day usage for at least 6 months until all the software catches up

          Like samsung would ever beat Oneplus.
          Said oneplus s actually better in every sngle category apart the lack of S Pen which aint much.
          For most tasks anyone will use hand not S pen.
          Said oneplushave better everything. Battery, charging speeds, oxygen OS which is close to stock android unlike ehavy bloatware One UI, cameras, screen etc.
          Samsung with poor exynos and lot of casual bloatware given by One UI and laughable 8GB rami wouldnt buy even for free.

            For me it's going to be between the OP13 and Xiaomi 15. The smaller phone with a 5400 battery sounds really tempting. Going to wait for proper reviews and the global releases to see how the handle the 8 elite in terms of heat and throttling.

              Much uglier than last years and now looks even more like all the other BBK/Oppo clones. Plus Oxygen is getting worse and worse. Pass.

                    Already have the OP12 and super happy with it. Another OnePlus is likely to be my next phone, but probably not until the OP16-18 or so.

                      I'm gonna try to break from single screen phones- gonna wait for Open 2 while hoping it's better specced than the initial- and ideally tri-fold like Huawei's.
                      Unless if it takes another year. 24gb ram is real attractive- I've already overwhelmed 12gb. As long as it's not locked down like 10T was, and auto call recording workaround still works. Ideally we'd be able to buy International variant directly to US while not losing any 5G bands.

I'm tempted by the black too, but in just so tired if slippery phone glass on the rear that in leaning towards the vegan leather. Although I agree sometimes it can look cheap, and I'm also not a fan of the silver camera. I wish they made it blue and black instead of blue and silver. That would have been a sick colourway.

At least on their Chinese phones it is the best one I have used. It can translate automatically as you scroll down through a website. This is so convenient compared to Xiaomi's Hyper OS for example. On Xiaomi's translation software you have to capture a picture and then translate. Then you have to scroll down, capture another picture and translate. It's so backward and inconvenient that the can't offer scrolling translation. At least this is the situation on the Chinese version of Color OS. The translation software is very good
