11 November 2024
Looks better on the inside than most computers do on the outside.

From the hyperactive crowd of YouTubers, the GSMArena team chose a calm and precise author. Well done.

Fabiana, 12 Nov 2024Even if it’s proprietary there will be third-party compatib... moreSeriously, apple do that to keep control and make money. Sometimes solving design issues at best.
The underlying components are standard stuff, there's no special memory dram apple or NAND apple gates, just using barebkne right of the bat TSMC Samsung xylinx stuff in the end...
I'd like to lough there. Apple brainwashing people with their expensive walled garden....

Apple and proprietary are linked together. Remember appletalk... Not new.

It's in purpose. It's good hardware reliable long lasting sh't, but it's also expensive walled garden for pretending 'superior' people. Choose your pill...

Even for a device that's not intended to be taken apart, it's incredibly dangerous for the power supply board to have those exposed components. Watch the Linus Tech Tips/Louis Rossmann iMac repair video if you need further explanation.

Fabiana, 12 Nov 2024Even if it’s proprietary there will be third-party compatib... moreLOL, good Apple is protecting bad users from themselves so they can get good experience and live happy :) Admirable , hear that a lot, usually in churches...

Even if it’s proprietary there will be third-party compatible parts at some point. Barely different than any other Apple replaceable SSD over the last decade.

Apple makes it hard because they don’t want inexperienced people messing with the insides. Heck it’s pretty normal for wannabe PC experts to buy video cards larger than the case, incompatible RAM, applying thermal grease like peanut butter, killing components because of no grounding, SATA SSD, turning on without a heatsink, the list goes on…

once you open a machine it want be as good as it was before.
                    no matter its which one.

if the board is on top-inside (upside-down) then why they put power button at bottom-up.
they also change the placement from right-to-left.

a mac mini pro design as mac pro (can or cheese) would be better in m4 mini form.

And how can you be this late and still think that it has a 128GB drive, even after watching all those videos?

And how can you be this ignorant and comment on an article just based on a headline, since it clearly mentions soldering memory modules.

VicsanIdiot, 11 Nov 2024how can you be this late to write an article about this and... moreIt is modular alright but "upgradable" is currently not. Why?

                                    - You have to buy it from custom builders that work-around Apple's restrictions. Availability is currently NONE.
                                    - Those 3rd-party builders does not guarantee that your "upgraded" SSD will not be software locked by Apple in the future.
                                    - Swapping parts between 2 Mac Mini is not considered an upgrade.

It's only considered upgradable when Apple themselves sell those proprietary SSDs for the consumers to buy.

NeonHD, 11 Nov 2024Slightly pretentious art, if I may add. Apple has alway... moreslightly? They've always been SUPER pretentious. But hey man, it works, so it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy LOL. They act like the best until people actually consider em the best.
