Revenue down, profit down, ability to do R&D down. Just because Samsung goes with Qualcomm today doesn't mean they stop investing in Exynos. Samsung knows that, they would rather use Exynos due to the cost savings. But this time, yield is the issue. No point in sticking with Exynos when they cannot even make them in sufficient quantities.

Most Samsung apps like health and wallet will work except for secure folder that uses knox. Still if worth doing if you have an old flagship device.

All variants are bootloader locked, with extr... moreThe difference is that you can unlock the bootloader easily in Exynos variants, the only Qualcomm variants that aren't too difficult to unlock it is the Hong Kong variant.
North American variants are a pain to unlock the bootloader to flash a custom recovery for then install an ASOP ROM.
And international Qualcomm variants those who aren't sold in North America, like the S20 FE 5G, S21FE Qualcomm, S22 and the S23.

Samsung should avoid using Qualcomm processors and only rely on Exynos for better hardware-software integration, my issue isn't with the Qualcomm SoC's, is with the preference developers have with Qualcomm SoC's to optimise theirs apps and games leaving behind Exynos and oher SoC's.

All variants are bootloader locked, with extra protection with Knox. It is VERY difficult to bypass, on top of Google's WideVine lock. Any breakthroughs have been luck, as a vulnerability was found in a Samsung Update.
Generally speaking, there is no Root + Widevine, or Custom Roms for Samsung Galaxy S-Phones. Please go have a look on xda developers. I think the last major device to get any decent action was the S10 Lineup, and even then it is not pretty.
If you want the "software freedom" there are two options: Google Pixel or Good Luck.

Samsung needs Qualcomm as they have yield issue with Exynos 2500. Spending more to have the Snapdragon and S25 ready to sell is better than unable to produce enough and losing sales.
And like I said, Qualcomm needs Samsung as the SD8Elite is akin to their "M1" moment. It would be an anti climax is it's only available in some Chinese phones that are not available in every market.

Leave Samsung alone to focus solely on its own Exynos in-house processors, is beneficial for Samsung as they don't have to pay Qualcomm for the chipsets and avoid an increase in the final product price, also they become even better refining its SoC's

Google's Tensor Soc is way WORSE than Samsung Exynos in terms of performance and efficiency.
Check the speed tests, benchmarks and users experience. Tensor SoC even if it shares the same fabrication process and modem with Samsung is way inferior in CPU/GPU and AI capabilties.
