Samsung India extends free screen replacement period for certain Galaxy displays

This is their fault since other brands also suffered as well starting from the S20 models. And it happened during lockdowns so most users can't do anything about it.

    and doesnt mean other oneplus user issue-less like yours either

    from what i read, its more samsung display issue, all phones (including oneplus 9) that use samsung display from around similar time period also getting similar issue

    from oneplus forums:
    "OnePlus has told Android Authority in a statement that it will offer a “lifetime screen warranty” to users with phones that have a green line display fault.
    The company is also offering some OnePlus 8 and 9 series owners an upgrade discount in case parts are not available for a screen replacement."

      Samsung introduced S21 series phones in Jan 2021 and I purchased it on Mar 2021.
      A pink line appeared on my phone's screen in July 2023 after a regular software update. When I approached Samsung service centre in Madurai, they replied that this needs a screen replacement and since the phone's warranty (1 year) has expired, it can be replaced only on paid basis.
      In April 2024, Samsung came out with a proposal of free replacement of screen for similar pink/green line on screen complaint, but refused to service my phone under this scheme, as mine was 3 years and 13 days old(Samsung was accepting such complaints for phones which are less than 3 years old). I escalated this issue upto their regional customer care manager, but no use.
      I find it as a clear cheating plan from Samsung. If they have introduced a phone model in Jan 2021 and this problem is purely a software related complaint, how they can let down their customers who have purchased their premium phone in the first 3 months. I
      In fact, these customers are more loyal and they are their forerunners who carry the Samsung brand to the market.
      Now after multiple sofware updates, my phone screen is having around 10 green/pink lines. Anyway I have throw it into the dustbin.
      I have communicated this incidence of cheating by Samsung to all of my friends and relatives, so that they do not fall in the trap of Samsung again. Now my whole of friends and relatives group have become averse of Samsung products (leave about the phone) after witnessing Samsung's indifferent attitude.
      I am elaborating it again to this gsmarena group too, so that members of this group too should get aware of Samsung's attitude and should stay away from their products.
      Hopefully everyone should boycot Samsung products, so that they will understand the power of customers.

              Also Samsung: device must be within 3 years, otherwise no warranty on display 😂

              Meanwhile, I still have my oneplus from 2017 that's working perfectly without any issues
