Apple's M4 MacBook Pro display has quantum dots for the first time

15 November 2024
It's still an LCD, but the switch to quantum dots should marginally improve image quality.

Let's say lousy at Apple figures out a way to embed A full scale Quantum-LED in a Laptop form Factor then what they make the vision glasses go CPU less or even Battery less?

Tbh I like Miniled (LCD) more than OLED for Laptop/PC(Mac) because of many static elements that present in the OS. It's sad that Apple will drop these Miniled Display technology in favour of OLED in future. They should at least gave these to MacBook Air and iPad Air.

Gusta, 15 Nov 2024What do u mean dude? MiniLED is also a part of LCD display ... moreTheoretically, Mini-LED can be used without Quantum Dot. But implementing Quantum Dot is significantly cheaper than implementing Mini-LED, so models with Mini-LED are usually the next model up from those with Quantum Dot but without Mini-LED.

No yummy cadmium 😋 🤤 in my display? 😡

MiniLED can be used as the backlight in QLED displays to improve their overall performance. For example, some high-end Samsung QLED TVs now use MiniLED backlighting, and these are often marketed as "Neo QLED."

MiniLED focuses on brightness and contrast via advanced backlighting. QLED focuses on color quality via Quantum Dot layers.

Yes, MBPro display is better than iPhone'!

"The QD film delivers better color gamut and better motion performance compared to the red KSF phosphor film"

It does indeed provide better color gamut coverage but the motion performance is completely upto the type of LCD used. IPS ones have excellent motion (for an LCD) whereas VA have smeary blacks.

Finally, laptop with QD. Was hoping this QD comes to PC market. First time I experienced QD LED when my friend invited me to join him for some TV review few years ago. The image is 🤩🤩
