If Google wants they can charge at any time their OS. And that day no one will stop it since Android is from their own property. Or they can give an exclusivity updates and support to their own products (Motorola) in order to get better sales. So don't be blind on that.
What will people do if they stop releasing source codes and start charge for them and start monopolizing the Android Market?...hmmm just think about it and, silly, they can do it at any time they want.
Android users among manufacturers are in their hands LoL

soon nexus will be a moto-google range with motorola making the 7inch and 10inch tablets + pablets.
as apple have their "i" range so do google will have the "x"

Each company was given 2 shots at Nexus devices. Although LG screwed up availability last year, they made a very good device.
Motorola is not known for making good phones, and at this point they're not even sold outside of the US. Plus, they haven't made a high-end device since the first RAZR, even Moto X is a mid-end, and is US only as its value for its ridiculous price prevents it from selling anywhere else in the world.
That said, because Motorola is Google's company and they're struggling and not making good devices, and not making any international devices, and despite all of that are given a Nexus phone.. the world is going to hate on Google for this. It isn't right. Companies like Sony sell great phones internationally, they deserved a shot after LG. LG deserved another shot this year too. At this point Motorola sells less phones and they're lower end than ZTE or Lenovo. It just isn't right to give them a Nexus device. A Nexus device is meant to be an inexpensive phone with bleeding-edge hardware that serves to be an example of next year's phones. Motorola can't even do justice to last year's tech.

Finally, its about time google start making there own phone. I dont really care about after sales service because i never had bad experience with my past motorola phones.

More like 64GB minimum because it costs nothing for them to buy in bulk..Once you take away the O/S memory then add your apps then some photos /videos/music and leave space for work stuff and taking photo/videos 16/32 GB is a joke.

Nexus should... moreSorry, but devices made by Samsung or LG are cheap looking. Look at the previous Nexus phones except the first one, all looked cheap.
This is a flagship phone we're talking about. The one that goes head to head with the iPhone. So, it must have that premium flagship look. The only Android manufacturers able to provide that is Sony, HTC and Motorola.
Samsung won't make a good Nexus device, cause they save the good hardware for their own Galaxy series. Nexus S & Galaxy Nexus was poor compared to their Galaxy phones.

In my country those two has very good service centre support.

Atleast this time, they could try to make the nexus a little more appealing, with micro sd support, removable battery, high resolution.... good enough features on par with the competition.
