WhoCaresTM, 03 Dec 2024Yeah well... I'll probably switch to the regular S25 ... moreBigger is better and it's time for 7"+ phones. There's enough smaller phones on the market for people like you, but it's time we moved on from 6.8" being the limit for 5 years now

Nikojas, 03 Dec 2024“ the Flip remains popular mainly in Europe” you say? I’ve ... moreYou can't judge it by that. I've only seen three flips in public. My coworker had the 1st one. Not sure if you consider that "public". The first time I saw someone in the streets of NY was 2023. The only other one I saw was recently at a visit to the Doctor. The receptionist had a Z5.

On the other hand, I've seen about 12 book folds in the wild. That doesn't include the one I saw in the vampire movie Abigail, the Z6 I saw aliyawill(a twitch streamer) using, they guy at the google store when I checked out the Pixel 9 Fold or the ones I saw when I ran into 4-5 people at the experience store when the Z6 came out. I'm honestly starting to believe I'm a book fold magnet, but the point is the Z Flip outsells books folds by 2-3 devices and I've barely seen any compared to the book folds.

Chris, 03 Dec 2024There are reports of Chinese companies exiting the foldable... moreYes, this site and similar influencer sites are definitely trying their best to spam ideas about the demise of Samsung and foldables. That has not changed one bit since the launch for the original Z Flip. This site also claims Chinese manufactures has doubled their sales since last year. If you try to add the nonsense up, it obviously doesn't make any sense.

Anonymous, 03 Dec 2024S25 will be very underwhelming release even for this timeI couldn't care less.
I've sacrificed comfort and ease of use for specs for far too long.

As long as the phone is half decent, I'll take it.
It could have a nuclear reactor instead of an soc, and a full frame sensor, but if it's heavier than 170g it's a brick and I'm not putting up with it anymore.

The 808 Pureview had a large sensor, xenon flash, headphone jack, removable battery, sd card, was small and only 169g. It was a joy to use.
Now I'm carrying a brick that has none of those things, but hey, at least it has a toothpick that pretends to be a pen.

TechCasual, 03 Dec 2024If Samsung added a telephoto lens, made the cover screen go... moreThere are reports of Chinese companies exiting the foldable market, including companies like Tecno, Infinix, and OPPO and Vivo is expected to leave as well so...yeah.

And z flip 7 is rumored to have 3 lens on the back and now it's rumored to get a 4 inch cover screen, so probably they have a cover screen as big as motos at that time. I hope.

                  Yeah well...
I'll probably switch to the regular S25 from my S24 Ultra.

I'm tired of large, heavy, impractical phones.
I'm so fed up with everything becoming inconvenient to use on a daily basis, because someone came up with the stupid idea that bigger equals better. We now have large SUV killing machines on the road, 50mm clocks on our wrists and brick phones in our pockets.

If Samsung added a telephoto lens, made the cover screen go full punch-hole (as Motorola did these years) with unique software features and made the body a tad thinner, the Z Flip 7 can be improved enough for the people considering to buy one, thus Samsung having higher sales for them. Anyways, knowing how it goes, I don't think sam would bother to upgrade it till the Z Flip 8, the time chinese companies manage to make greater foldables than sam

“ the Flip remains popular mainly in Europe” you say? I’ve been living in Europe for the last 4 years and seen a total of 4 people using any flip phone in all that time. Where in Europe are they popular?

if major market wants to actually buy a foldable they need it at regular flagship price (900-1200 probably), same performance as any other similarly priced regular flagship and same specs

walkman8, 03 Dec 2024They cannot, even if their lives depended on it, figure out... moreMy fold 5 is like brand new after more than a year and the majority of fold 4 owners also have no issues, so the durability concerns are sorted out. The outrageous price for the crap features is the nr1 problem. Weak battery, outdated cameras, thickness, etc. are the things they have to sort out if they want people to keep buying them

They cannot, even if their lives depended on it, figure out the reason for the downfall of foldables.
It's not screen size, cameras or even software.
Only two major reasons: price and durability. It's that simple.
