ROG Ally, the first one is 450 euro here

OnePlus 12R is 490 euro

Both are OLDER products

Rog Ally X, newer product but with same chip is 799 euro.

Just because it has a old chip doesn't mean it will be cheaper, it never works like that with a "new" product using old hardware.

And that is why buying things that have same hardware, but are longer on the market makes more sense then.

A bit of common sense if you are into this market for a while.

        $400 is still not competitive enough to beat the Steam Deck, but then again it's probably due to proprietary licensing to Microsoft for Windows. If they used Linux like Valve did, THEN we'd probably see even better pricing (at the cost of some Windows app compatibility, but IMHO Proton has become more robust over time to handle quite a bit of Windows-specific apps, so not a huge loss).

            There are plenty of devices with Zen 3 core for way cheaper than $400.

              HyperionBurn, 03 Dec 2024tryna beat the switch 2?Seeing how hard nintendo has been on switch emulation in the recent year, and leaks suggesting the switch 2 won't be that different than the switch when it comes to emulating, it's pretty clear how x86 handhelds(I refuse to call these windows handhelds because you're better off installing linux on them) will continue to reign supreme in performance, battery life in these is probably their only downfall as in demanding stuff they suck, especially if you use windows instead of installing linux.

                But not for EU market, Xiaomi their phones often cost less in china too and same with lenovo their products (remember how much cheaper their y700 tablet is in china?)
