•Under-display Face ID using a metalens
•Variable focal aperture
•24MP selfie camera
•48MP tetraprism telephoto
•New technology called Low-Dielectric TEE on the display — apparently will improve display durability and power efficiency
•Matte display protection that is much more scratch-resistant
•Wi-Fi 7 (not important, but still listing just in case)
•12GB of RAM (unconfirmed, so heed with caution, but might be true)

Costs alone will give Intel a chance to compete with TSMC at getting orders IF they manage to put out proper modern nodes.

ArthurGD3, 06 Dec 2024Is it worth waiting for the 18 Pro instead of getting the 1... more60percent yield is too less, it should not be less than 80% ever, because at transistor level in binning it's usually 90% below 60 percent Android/ios won't work, 80percent transistor in any chip had to work perfectly in order to run a designated Windows copy.

I guess RTX 6090 gonna cost as much as a car 💀

Is it worth waiting for the 18 Pro instead of getting the 17 Pro for this 2nm chip alone?

If the manufacturing costs are this much more and we don't yet know what the performance and efficiency improvements will be over the 17 Pro chip, it may not be worth waiting for and instead get the 17 Pro.
