Yochami, 10 Dec 2024People who read news more than one sources knows why China ... moreChina didn’t ban Google. It’s Google who decided to exit the market because they want the data for themselves.
The data storage thing is a red herring as even Apple didn’t mind and complied with the regulation. The question is why the other Silicon Valley companies didn’t want to. Maybe they’re the ones who had something to hide.

Lister, 10 Dec 2024And yet other Chinese companies are not affected by this. T... moreIt all stemmed from 5G infrastructure, which Huawei is in the business, and had garnered contracts with many countries, including those in Western Europe. Telecom is extremely critical in a highly digital society, so the fact that you have a company from a country with questionable integrity (China) building your future infrastructure, that should be a huge red flag from the start. Thus the US moved to ban Huawei. It’s an understandable move regardless of what people think. The side effect is Huawei’s consumer electronic business being affected.
Other Chinese OEMs are not in the infrastructure business. Heck, even Lenovo, a company that provides literally many computers of most enterprises, is not affected either. It’s about the 5G infrastructure.

Yochami, 10 Dec 2024People who read news more than one sources knows why China ... moreYour long comment has zero meaning at all and sounds stupid.
People who reads a lot know that because of government regulation of some countries/region the US companies choose to build data center worldwide in europe, singapore, india, etc. so the private information are not collected by US.
So yeah, China was only finding illogical excuse on banning the US corp after all this time.
USA is the good guy here in this case, and Huawei was deserved to be sanctioned by many.
I am happy for this news.

Renato Russo, 10 Dec 2024"China is not innocent but neither is the US"
... moreYou're absolutely right. There's no other country in the world that is a bigger bully than the USA. They don't give a shot about their trading partners, their allies in NATO, or any other country except themselves. The USA is the main cause of almost all conflicts and wars in the world and has been for the past 50 years. If we're talking morality, the USA has none.
At least China puts its money where it's mouth is and is helping develop countries. What has the USA done for the world other than sow discord and rob other countries of their natural resources under the guise of "finding weapons of mass destruction"?

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2024Good and smart people.
People who read news a lot and a... morePeople who read news more than one sources knows why China banned Google, Facebook etc: those American companies refuse to store Chinese data locally and thus making US government able to access Chinese data. And those intelligent people also realise that US is being ruthless evil totalitarian by trying to kill a single private company this much by controlling other countries and prevent them to have a business with this single company.
Just imagine you build a company, work so hard, make it really big, one day US decides to hate you and try to kill your business by cutting you from suppliers and customers and ask other countries to kill you too.
China never once ask other countries to ban google, facebook etc. They banned those companies not to bully them, it's just because those companies refuse to follow China's rule when operating in China (hello? It MAKES SENSE! That apply to every other country too)

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2024I hope you are only using Huawei for the rest of your life,... moreLol. Then tell your beloved Uncle Sam to stop using anything that has a material made in China. Even the US MICS still import raw materials from CHina.
Point here is that there's no 100% way to avoid a certain country/govt/corporation. Only reduced dependence. And it's even more doable if one side does not meddle too much on global trades and policies.
