Calling the Razr 50 a loser is certainly a choice. Sure, it doesn't have an amazing camera, but what Motorola phone does? It's basically a Razr 40 Ultra for $300 less than in 2023, which is quite a value proposition. And saying it has abysmal performance is just plain wrong. The Razr 50 is not a perfect phone, but I definitely wouldn't call it a loser.

Long-waited improvements finally happened (software and Android updates) and other necessary tweaks (better cameras and post-processing) too, but limited to a handful of phones, all in premium midange or flagship category, but even so, they still lack a few things that phones from other brands has for the same price or lower.
On another side, G line in 2024 is so poorly balanced that almost no phone gets a highlight simply because they don't have highlights. They sure do their job well for daily/basic tasks, but that's all.
Winner: 2024
Loser: Motorola

I agree with others - GSMArena editors completely forgot about moto g stylus 5G (2024) which they even reviewed... It sells like crazy in USA as for 250$ (8/256GB) is a bargain.

LoneOwl, 30 Dec 2024Thats not how things work. Its just bad choice by Motorola.... moreEdge 50 Neo doesn't use UFS 2.0 at all. It uses uMCP, and tested storage speed is actually on par with the slower UFS 3.1 storage.

What the heck man, who said GSMArena that the G35's Unisoc processor is bad? Check out it's specs on NanoReview, it's much like a Dimensity 7020 and is the 3rd best SoC in it's segment. It outperforms Dimensity 6300, Snapdragon 680 and even Helio G100. It gives smooth 40FPS PUBG gameplay and can shoot 4K and is 5G. In India, this is the best phone on it's segment (₹9000-11000)

Andrew, 30 Dec 2024I'll have to disagree with you about the G85. I bought... moreJust because you bought G85 it does not mean it's a great phone, it means that alternatives for the price and features you get it's much better, G85 sucks, you could got much better phone for G85 price.

I absolutely agree with you that the G Stylus (2024) wasn't a flop. It was a substantial improvement over the last model. I am a Galaxy Note user, and I was able to use this model with minimal compromise. $99 plus tax through Google Fi, for this phone is an absolute steal.

I'll have to disagree with you about the G85. I bought one in August just as it launched in my country and in very happy overall with it. It is a VAST improvement over my old Oppo A53s and I find the cameras are good enough for what I need. I find it also superior to the Redmi Note 12 that my parents use. I don't buy new devices every year, only when I need to and I would class myself as a moderate user. So, for me, the G85 fits my needs perfectly.

The article only talks about the international G series, but I’d call the US phones a flop too. We got 4 phones this year: the G Play, G, G Power, and G Stylus in order from cheapest to most expensive. The first 3 are just standard Moto budget phones with the only notable thing being that the G Play got a huge cpu upgrade from last year’s version that takes it from being practically unusable to being barely tolerable (it still hasn’t gotten Android 14 though). The G Stylus is basically just a G85 with slightly different specs and a basic stylus built in. The G Stylus is the only one with good hardware, but all of them have terrible software thanks to what The Verge journalist Allison Johnson called “bloatware hell”.
