Apple are the ones who have no creativity when it comes to new models. Literally been using the exact same design for years now, at least Samsung change it up every so often. The camera design on the Ultras has only been the same on the last 3 models, the S21 Ultra was different

with that punched hole, it is still zte (nubia z ultras, redmagic) that impresses me with bezel race... that s25 ultra still has the punched hole - a.k.a. misplaced "bezel"...

Samsung Android - Opened source
TBH, who doesn't know how to make your brand stand out when it's closed source; to prevent competition? It's no brainer right? Apple way of releasing new models is like getting people hungry for them, it's like letting the tiger out of the cage!
For Opened source, we know competition is given. For Samsung to make it to where they are now, it's really hard fought battle for them.

Look at iPhone camera island, no change, stuck in that design for decades. The iterations have been on the chip and software and it's given, hence, no innovation.
Manufactures whom can reduce that island means there's R&D with the camera OEM. If you use stock, you just have to use what's given which in the case of Apple.
I also do agree that the smartphone design and iterations will come to a slow growth one day and maybe, stagnate.

There's no need for over the top gimmicks like they used to. Same thing has happened with large screen TVs, laptops, ect. Sure, you can buy lower end or higher end versions, but they're all going to look similar.
