HMD Arc is no-frills Android 14 Go smartphone

18 December 2024
It's rocking a dated Unisoc chipset and a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging.

justasmile, 19 Dec 2024A HD+ screen and 10w charging? Definitely not looking good.actually, an HD screen does not really matter especially for seniors since their vision is already blurry and they tend to increase the size of the texts.

26nm in 2024 is absolutely insane. That thing will be hotter than sun after opening the notes app for 5 minutes and will lose 20% of its battery charge in that span.

I don't even understand what's the point. It's so bad and borderline unusable that it might as well not even exist. It's literally manufactured e-waste and HMD will probably charge like $100 USD for it, about 4 times its actual value.

28nm actually make my day 😭😭😭

Just when I thought HMD couldn't be worse, they a whole circus at this point 🤡🤡🤡

Worthless. HMD is a joke. Who is asking for a Android Go in practically 2025? They could have saved time and money by not making this at all.

ol reliable SC9863A. I don't expect this to cost more than bout $65. Otherwise it doesn't make sense.

pl2rts, 18 Dec 2024HMD needs new brand name change to E-WasteWatch them still try to greenwash it

"Pricing details were not yet revealed."

Of course not, they are too scared to tell the world that this costs like $100, when in reality it should be $30-35 max, not that it should even exist.

However I do like that the text on the generic back that says "AI Camera", when there is also clearly a second sensor there, but they know it does nothing.

me considered the fact it is e-waste

The color looks good, and the name sounds cool, but the display definitely isn't HD+ and Android 14 is already outdated enough on a new phone, but it being the Go version coupled with a 28nm SoC and it's worse than entry level phones from 2017, like the Galaxy J5.

I didn’t know functioning properly was considered a frill now

even its an average size of this e-waste it aint a 720p🤦
